Finding updates on recent club news is not easy on Redcafe.

RSS feeds were great in the Firefox 1-3 days.

There at least should be more title changing of topics; Anderson's loan move being a key example.

In my humble opinion

How about a forum for mega-threads? It'd free the United forum up for threads about specific news articles, discussion on a specific aspect of a player.etc

Alternatively, a Twitter/News forum so SteveJ can be banned from it.

We have more than enough forums, adding more is not a solution.

Yeah, death to mega-threads. Conversation killers and news hiders, the lot of them. Things were much better back in t'day.

Will mean a fairly big, cultural change. It can happen though.

Us proles need to not be afraid to start loads of new threads and mods need to stop merging or locking if two threads cover similar topics. It's inevitable things will swing too far in the opposite direction for a while but worth it in the long run.

Make it happen, redcafe.

I think even just one sticky thread with links to news and headlines relating to Manchester United could be useful. No chat or response whatsoever. Just news links. Any further chat to be taken to the relevant thread, just like the Tweets Only thread, I suppose. Would it be that labour intensive? How many United stories are there a day? And I mean actual news, not just "Phil Jones happy to get a goal" or whatever.

I'm not sure how easy ro feasible it might be to create, but how about developing one of those "moving tickers" (similar to how "Sky" would announce their breaking news) as a news update on the homepage?

Like most new threads/news updates, you can just click on the link and it will take you to the relevant thread?

Don't really see the difference to just browsing the homepage list / forum thread list. News that is relevant today will be in a thread that is active and near the top of the list. A sticky thread will just get ignored by most people - see sticky blindness.

Thanks for the suggestion but tickers don't work. When people are online, they're an impatient bunch. Nobody is going to stick around waiting for words to appear on a ticker.

And having it visible on all pages all the time would annoy the hell out of most people.
