Look at the remaining games, currently on 33 points, Palace are on 39 and I don't think Utd are catching anyone above that.

Arsenal (H)
Leicester (A)
Forest (A)
City (H)
Newcastle (A)
Wolves (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Brentford (A)
West Ham (H)
Chelsea (A)
Villa (H)

How many points will Utd finish on in league?

My guess is 11th on 50pts.

Winner gets some plastic patio furniture and a speed boat.

Does it matter?

As long as mugs in Asia keep buying shirts the Glazers will keep the United pig tied to a stake driven into frozen ground and there’s nothing you nor I can do about it but bleat on forums such as this.

Thanks for that.

Arsenal (H) - L
Leicester (A) - D
Forest (A) - L

Newcastle (A) - L
Wolves (H) - L
Bournemouth (A) - L
Brentford (A) - L
West Ham (H) - D
Chelsea (A) - L
Villa (H) - L

Genuinely trying to be realistic here. I can't see us beating any of this lot, but we might scrape a couple of draws. The vast majority of the upcoming teams are much, much better than us.

How many United shirts have you got?

Good grief, looking at that list of teams and realising every game is going to be very tough really rams home how bad we are currently.

My guess is 40 pts

Decent chance of 3 points against Leicester, Wolves and West Ham -- thought obviously not a given considering the state of this team. Second favourites in all other matches.

Arsenal (H) D
Leicester (A) W
Forest (A) D
City (H) D
Newcastle (A) L
Wolves (H) W
Bournemouth (A) D
Brentford (A) L
West Ham (H) D
Chelsea (A) L
Villa (H) L
I’ve got us on 44pts, no idea how that equates to league position.

It’s fecking tragic that I feel my predictions are wildly optimistic and yet I can only see us winning 2 more league games for the rest of the season. Sort it out Ruben!

Win at Leicester, 4 points from the Wolves/West Ham games and a draw at Brentford seeing as their home form has become terrible.

So 41 points, might just sneak 15th ahead of West Ham.

I think we'll be low to mid 40's. 1 point per game average puts us on 44 and I don't think we'll stray far from that. Going off of previous years, that's usually a 14th place finish I think which makes sense. That group where you're comfortably safe from relegation but also definitely bottom half.

Arsenal (H) - 0
Leicester (A) - 3
Forest (A) - 0
City (H) - 1
Newcastle (A) - 0
Wolves (H) - 3
Bournemouth (A) - 1
Brentford (A) - 0
West Ham (H) - 1
Chelsea (A) - 0
Villa (H) - 1

For a grand total of - 43 points. Which will probably see us finish in 14th/15th.

I think 10-12 points at a push. They are 11 meaningless games left to be honest. Not getting relegated and not getting into the European places. Depressing times. It is all on the Europa League now. Hoping to see a few first team starters on Thursday rested today. It would be pointless risking injury today in a nothing game as far as the league position is concerned.

Arsenal (H) - L
Leicester (A) - W
Forest (A) - D

Newcastle (A) - L
Wolves (H) - D
Bournemouth (A) - L
Brentford (A) - D
West Ham (H) - W
Chelsea (A) - D
Villa (H) - D

11 points so we'd finish on 44. Think that's what some kind of computer predictor had us having at the end of the season.

2 wins out of last 11 games looks bad but over last 11 games we won 3 (2 vs teams to be relegated) so would be similar. We're capable of okay performances away from home so possibly could get a few draws away to some of Forest/Newcastle/Bournemouth/Brentford/Chelsea. Games at home vs Arsenal and City look like defeats really.

A wardrobe full. Have supported them all my life and I’m 55. Saw them relegated in the ‘70s. Made my pilgrimage home in 2010 to see United v Fulham for the 100th Anniversary game at OT. I’ve earned the right to have an opinion.

Any other questions?

41-43 points roughly so safely midtable. Hopefully that's whilst prioritising the EL. If we go out Thursday then it's going to get even more grim to follow this side.

Anywhere from 39-43, I reckon. Which is absolutely mental to think

Arsenal (H) - L
Leicester (A) - W
Forest (A) - L
City (H) - D
Newcastle (A) - L
Wolves (H) - W
Bournemouth (A) - L
Brentford (A) - L
West Ham (H) - W
Chelsea (A) - L
Villa (H) - L
10 points is my guess. We may get a draw against Villa, but 10 points should be achievable. I hope gives Obi the league games now. If it doesnt work its no different to keep playing Hojlund.
43 points and 13th ill guess.

No, more than happy with the history lesson:+1:

Whatever it is, it is very far from being acceptable. Yet another season to be consigned to the dustbin.

I was critical of Moyes, Van Gaal, José (2nd season), Ole, and Ten Hag.
But I didn't think it would get this bad.
I am all for giving Amorim more time. But pretty soon the excuses have to stop.

A total of 38 to 42 points
Ending up in 13th to 16th place.

Only 6 to 8 goals from the remaining 10 games, with a max total goals for, of just 41 for the season.

You think we'll get 17 points in 11 games, 9 of which are against teams currently above us in the table?

Currently we're mathematically on pace for 46, but that takes no account of the fact we've already played 8 of our 10 games against the 5 teams who were below us when this round started - and those 8 games account for 20 of our 33 points. We've taken 2.5 points per game against those bottom opponents. From 21 games against the remaining 14 teams, we have 13 points. That's 0.6 points per game.

So, to reach 50 we would not just have to elevate our overall points per game from 1.2 to 1.6 (which would be a major improvement) we'd also have to achieve that against significantly harder average opposition than we've faced over the first 29 rounds. Even if we beat both Wolves and Leicester, we'll need 11 in 9 games against the remainder - pretty much exactly twice the points per game we've managed so far this season against top 15 teams. Where is this improvement going to come from?

For my part I think we can reasonably expect 42-44 points. Anything above that I'd consider above expectation. As awful as it is, that's where things seem to stand if we're being realistic.

Utd will go on a run.

Starting today.

47pts

Leicester (A) - 3
Forest (A) - 0
City (H) - 3

Wolves (H) - 3
Bournemouth (A) - 0
Brentford (A) - 0
West Ham (H) - 3

'Top 6' clubs worst seasons in terms of points tally: Liverpool 52 points in 11/12, Tottenham 44 points in 97/98, Chelsea 44 points in 22/23, Arsenal 51 points in 95/95 (42 games played), City 34 points in 00/01 (relegated), United 58 points in 21/22.

Guess it would be nice if we can get to 45 at least so it isn't as bad as Chelsea and Spurs in their worst seasons.

I was trying to think of what our lowest total was, completely forgot this awful season and thought it was last year.
I am still a big believer that this squad has a good amount of talent + is woefully underperforming so will be more optimistic and think we can get close to 58.

53 points.

Leicester (A) - 3
Forest (A) - 1
City (H) - 3
Newcastle (A) - 1
Wolves (H) - 3
Bournemouth (A) - 3
Brentford (A) - 0
West Ham (H) - 3
Chelsea (A) - 1
Villa (H) - 1

BELIEVE.

A bit depressing to see 45 point "is not so bad".... and 50 "probably the best we can get". It's true though.

Right now I'm believing it!

Feck it. Really should have won that.

A little bit of confidence and a few teams to play who'll be safe or have nothing to play for and players with one eye already on the holidays, Utd could very easily win 6 or 7 of those remaining games.
