I think it's a bug or something I first tried the game via ea play and then bought it. I got two useless informs, two dumfries and 7000 fifa points.

Just after I typed this I tried the promo packs and on my last pack. I finally got a player that’s actually worth a damn. Ole Gunnar fecking Solskjaer! Worth 330k.
Why aren't there any decent Right Winger from EPL under 100k? Looking to upgrade my wings but don't want to upgrade the left side because I got Saint Maximin on untraceable pack. Any RW equivalent to Sterling(Cheap but fills all the boxes)

Sancho is about 20k and I’ve found him to be good.
If you just want raw pace then Adama is about 3k, but he doesn’t tick many other boxes

Can someone recommend a good FUT guide for someone who has never played but is also sufficiently detailed that it doesn’t just go through basics?
There's not that much to it really.
The basics: You build a team by linking players together using chemistry. Solely by league or nation is a normal link, add in the same club or in the same league AND nation and you begin getting perfect links. These will allow you to have red links whilst still maintaining 10 chemistry.
You can make money through playing games or by trading your excess players. Most people do a combination of both. Heavy traders will try and predict which players will rise or fall in value and trade those to make money faster.
The competitive side of FUT is through FUT Champs or Weekend League as it is mostly known. This year they have made a lot of changes so no one really knows how it is going to play out yet. You have to accumulate 1500 points by playing division rivals. Then you can attempt to qualify through the playoffs. You need at least 5 wins out of 9 to qualify for the finals, where you can win some of the best cards around.
Played a couple of games yesterday and really liked it which is something I haven’t said about FIFA for some time. The midfield actually matters and you need to be patient with your build up rather than holding the sprint button down and doing skills moves galore. I think they have nailed the pace/speed in this to a tee. Not too fast, not too slow - just right.
Game has a lot of potential but will see how that develops I suppose. Like it’s predecessors, the patches always kill the game and revert it back to its arcadey, ping pong passing, fast paced ice hockey game.

Just bought Ole’s hero card. Can’t wait to try him out.

I really enjoyed the games I played there was only one game I struggled because of his neuer saving everything.

Not sure I could be fecked unlocking a 78 rated card that I’ll probably never use though.
He's one of those really overpowered players that play well above his stats, no idea why or how but his card stats are a lie.
I'd say it's worth doing.
Just used all of my points that came with the game and the best player I packed was OTW Alaba so I can sell him for a decent price. The best usable player I got was fecking Ben Chilwell. I don’t think I’ve ever packed a player higher than 85, in any fifa.
Managed to get a free code for Ultimate edition so I might actually try FUT for the first time ever.
I’m trying to play offline this year. WC is way too easy though but I struggle on Legendary. I reckon I should just stick to playing Legendary for now though and I should eventually figure it out, right? Or is it one of the difficulty levels that you are just never going to get?

Biggest thing to track is how the market is doing - generally the dynamic is that prices fall right after the weekend (e.g. on Monday or Tuesday), then rise on Thursday / Friday because people have coins from rewards.

Had a first the other day. Played online as Aston Villa and it matched me against PSG as usual. He pace whored Mbappe and then scored the jammiest goal (my keeper instead of picking it up just ran into it and knocked it in off the post). He did a twatty celebration and watched all the replays.
Now he was 1 - 0 up he started doing rainbow flicks in his own half, you know the type.
I was pretty annoyed at this point so once I got it back I just kept the ball. Even playing it up to the strikers and then all the way back. I did this for the whole rest of the first half and it was my kick off second half. He tried pressing like a maniac but I just calmly played around it and eventually he gave up and quit it gave me a 3 - 0 win.
