Gaming Fifa 2009

pfft..

I've stopped playing with United nowadays, but do so only occasionally when I'm in the mood or playing someone really really really good who is also using a good team..

Nowadays using Reading, even if I'm coming up against the likes of Inter, Barca, Arsenal, Chelsea.. Obviously I get thrashed now and then 3-0/4-0...but always more fun when you scrape a win.

More fun when you score a scrappy goal with the likes of Kevin Doyle.. :D

For Internationals, mostly use Croatia or Turkey...

Anyways, I'm probably getting on again in a few mins...

I'm done with FIFA. It just won't let me score and keeps letting goals in left right and centre. The AI is retarded

In fairness you had around 3 or 4 players sent off in your first game..lol

You shouldn't be slide tackling as often, unless you're SURE you're going to get the ball. Secondly at times it's better off letting a player through 1 on 1 than making a bad last man tackle and getting sent off..

A sending off is worse than conceding just 1 goal early on in the game.

As for the game after that, I only really sealed the game after I brought on the heavy artillery. Whilst I had Nani, Macheda etc on you were well and truly in it :)

I was dominating games a few days ago. Now I get humiliated. I scored one goal during the whole day, before playing you. A humdinger volley from Scholes. Took it on the chest outside the box, hit it in the air. In off the crossbar.

im getting better at this online lark still waiting for my first win though! played 3 games so far got hammered 7-2 in the first one after i went 2-0 up then lost 3-1 after i went ahead again finally lost 2-1 in extra time after i had dominated and should have finished it off long before extra time

This suggests its more to do with you then the game. I find i win my first few games very easily but then i start getting complacent wihtout realising untill its too late.

no it's the game. I'm concentrating more than ever, same team/player/formation, yet the opposing team gets the lucky bounces, opposing keepers have stormer, and my defenders have become weak and dumb

Word of advice mate, and I've learned this the hard way.....

Always have variety in your play, especially if you're playing online.. Make sure you're able to switch from a passing game, to a physical long ball game according to your opponent.
When in certain situations, always keep your opponent guessing by doing things differently.. For example if you're on the byline near the 6 yard box attacking, don't always pass/square it off for someone else to tap home, at times just blast it towards the near post ala Giggsy 99 Arsenal semi final. Small things like that....

If you're on the half way line and attacking, while you may think passing and building up to the opponents goal is a good idea, sometimes it's good just to dink a long diagonal ball over the top for a 50/50 towards your strikers..


Variety is the key.. When you're defending 1 on 1s, sometimes make your keeper charge, sometimes don't... Always keep your opponent guessing. The occasional short corner may surprise him, at the same time, sometimes go far post, sometimes go near post, sometimes aim your corners for the penalty spot.....


plus makes the game more fun and you score a variety of goals....that's why I love FIFA 09....it's so so much like REAL football..

My gold subscription ran out so I wasn't bothered going to get another one. So for about 2 weeks I played on legendary, and against my brother. (my friends don't count towards keeping my game up as they're shit at FIFA). Yet now I'm gone shit

getting really annoyed at people quitting in ultimate mode

they still get coins even if they lose, so why do they do it. Their players lose a contract and fitness

they really need to take the option of quitting a game, out this year, never had so many people quit on me online before

Doesn't matter...

you've got these people just disconnecting their internet too supposing you try to play out time by not giving them possession and thus making it impossible for them to pause and quit..

I can safely say it's the best football sim to be ever made, and I've played quite a lot of PES and FIFAs over the years..

You won't regret it, I guarantee ya.
 
I've got PES at the moment, but can't seem to figure out how to forward ports and the lag is meant to be awful online anyway. Figure i'll get Fifa so i can play online.

ahh, not sure much about the PES or anything to do with PS3s online play tbh..

however this year FIFA pisses all over PES in every department I'd say.
 
i got beat by gaz 4-0

i must practice more though i am enjoying playing online now, never bothered before when i had to pay a subscription to microsoft but i am starting to enjoy this, still waiting for a first win though! i seem to get lag sometimes over wifi which can be a pain!
 
I live in the back end of tyrone, it has it's ups and downs, was fine earlier like, varies a wile pile.

God i haven't played with a decent team for a while. Rejoined an old online league i was a part of a few months back and having to work my way back up to the top again. I'm Port Vale atm, bad times.

I'm a 360 man as well, which is a shame in a way as i fancied playing Elvis at some point.
