Cheers, Will give it a try. How much of a difference does chemistry make to the team? If it drops from say 99 or 100 to 80 do you notice a difference? Would you maybe try Auba instead of Sane and they buy somebody new or would you just sell Auba as he is expensive and then have 100K for a striker? Is Lukaku good? Who do you recommend from other leagues?

Well what I meant was to have Auba start Striker then switch him in game. You could have Martial for example at LW, then switch him and Auba in game. That sort of thing happens a lot to make sure chemistry is at its best. Yeah chemistry is what it all boils down to. Try get everyone on 9/10 chem. If one or 2 are on 7 or 8 it isn't a big issue

Ahh makes sense. All I got in my player pick reward was Hernandez which is massively disappointing. Will give him a go but not expecting much. Will wait until tomorrow to open my packs I think. Fingers crossed.

I will open my 2 player picks later, only one looks half decent is Di Maria and even then im not too bothered. Wish I could save them.

I will give you an example of how my team lines up for chemistry. I then switch it to 4231 in game based on who I like where

It’s so f*cking baffling that there isn’t just a random online mode. I don’t want to play division 1 games against Barcelona ten times in a row ffs. I don’t want to play the cash grab ultimate team mode.

Pretty sure there used to be an online single match mode. Seems they took it out.
 
Not the best goal you’ll ever see but it happened in injury time to equalise the game against a team of 9 icons, Ronaldo and VVD. Ended up winning on penalties.

They don’t make money off seasons mode though right? It’s making me want to switch to PES. Playing a random person 1 v 1 is the most basic it can get and they took it out. It’s a joke.

Ah yeah, I guess that is true. I was just feeling cynical at EA. I play career mode and they just neglect it, so I’m bitter.

It is ridiculous that you don’t just have an online lobby mode though. Agreed.
 
I am fumingggggggg! Forgot to redeem weekend league AGAIN. Absolute joke the way it is this year. Of all weeks I want to grind and get good rewards for FUT birthday stuff still in packs next week!

Definitely no way of getting on to play??? @Macern @P-Nut

This is the only week I was up for playing all 30 games seriously :( My own fault really I could have used the app or something but haven't been on the xbox so forgot :(

Rivals and weekend league rewards... What are you all doing? I usually take coins from rivals but saying as its FUT birthday this Friday I might hold off and open my packs then and pick the packs option instead of coins for rivals.

Will FUT birthday be full of SBCs or anything in packs? Cant remember how it works

I'm considering dropping Mbappe for him, as I don't know how big the difference in quality will be for an extra 160k coins
 
Do the first 5 matches of weekend league have any bearing on your opponents for the rest of the games?

I won 5 in a row for the first time ever and since then I’ve just played absolutely worldy teams. Gone from 5-0 to 7-13 :lol::lol:

The first 5 are random then you start to get matched based on your score I think. So if you win your first 5, you'll have a form of +5. You can only play players with a record between 0 and +10 form. Then it keeps your score afterwards where you are matched within 5 of your record (if possible).

I don't know how you're not bored of WL yet. I reedemed my entry this week but don't know if I can be arsed to get the 11 wins to auto qualify next week... currently at 6-2. Game is dying for me, always does around this period of the year

Yeah I’m completely done now, it was never really fun in the first place but now it’s dead and I’m getting nothing but awful Spanish GK/CB’s in packs. Seeing as EA have actually bothered to update career mode a bit might hop on that.

I always take a break midway through the season and play something else. Combining apex with it now means I can usually finish weekend league if I've got nothing else on.

He looks taller to me, Rashford has abit more hair adding an inch and Lukaku is standing further away from the camera and possibly slouching more than Marcus. Not alot in it though.

Transfer market has Lukaku down as 5cm taller than Marcus.

Can't win an online single match for love nor money today, the lag is fecking atrocious. I've got my DR skill level to almost 1800 now on server but playing online singles, my players run in slow motion and I've lost 8 games in a row. Took me 17 games to get 3 wins towards Gervinho...

Me and my friend who are actually decent together usually lost 6 games on the bounce in co-op seasons last night. The lag was atrocious in every match. Didn’t EA just release another bullshit update?

I see you are in Ireland too, looks like we got well fecked when EA recently messed with the servers. I believe online singles are hosted ptp so I have no clue why my lag is so bad, there is zero point in trying to get those 3 fb cards atm, losing out on 89, 88, 87 special players because of servers is a joke. Guess I'll have to wait till 1 am again to get playable matches. Glad I gave up on futchamps I'd imagine its a proper shit show currently.
 
Got bored of Ultimate team and have gone back to career mode, really enjoying it. I started it well before the January window, is there anyway of updating without having to start a new career/save?

Don’t think so. EA don’t want us playing career mode at all so not surprised.
 
Would be cool if at some point they actually used some of the money they are scheming for, to develop a game actually worth playing. I used to play career mode and random online games, and sometimes FUT. Now everything is about FUT? In which you simply have to have a big fetish for cards, enough to spend real money to have any good incentive to keep playing. Game is boring, it is the gambling part that is exiting. Fecking runned like a casino, not like a football game its ridiculous.

I've never spent a penny on FUT so it still keeps it interesting enough for me. I enjoy turning over these players with the good teams and wheeling & dealing till me team is really good. Only problem is my team is where i wanted it now. Could upgrade to better IFs for some of my players but any considerable upgrades will only come through icons most likely. I just don't think the game has enough shelf life now to make it worthwhile grinding for these players.

That's the problem with so many different types of cards nowadays.

Years ago you was lucky to have a few IFs in your team. When icons were first introduced they were also rare as anything.

They need to rethink the whole model. You should need to save for a couple of days to be able to afford a standard player like say Herrera, a Pogba should be a month or 2 of spending on nothing else and finally icons should be so rare that you are unlikely to get one and if you do he should change the game for you.

Would add much more of a thrill to packing good players. For instance I packed Hamsik and Verratti in the same pack yesterday and didn't bat an eyelid at it.

It's my first real year playing FUT so it's probably a bit of a novelty for me. But i agree with there being too many cards, they've oversaturated the market and made the icons less special. Imo the carniball cards were a step too far and these birthday ones are absolute trash. I actually liked the future stars promo because we all enjoyed playing FIFA and FM to develop stars, so that promo brought a bit of that to FUT. But i hate it when they enter the realms of ridiculous, like VVD at striker or Salah at LB in this FUT Birthday promo.

I think the game would be better as you said it used to be, but that horse has bolted due to the money they're making off this. Unfortunately there's no end in sight to the crap they're putting out now. I'm just keeping it real, using United players plus a couple of others to fill in weaker positions and just trying to enjoy using my team, which i am right now. I've got a bit of a past/present/future United theme to the majority of my team.

Yeah next year I'm going to ban myself from buying anyone. Seems like a fun challenge just using packs and SBCs to build your squad.
