There are massive problems in this game.
Passing has been buffed, which means that bad passes are not punished. I can pass the ball easily in my own half, even when my opponent uses high pressure. Everyone plays like Barcelona in this game and you can't do anything about it. FIFA 16 was a terrible game IMO, but it punished bad passes. FIFA 17 seems to give inferior players an edge over you.
Defending is easier, due to the AI being godly. The amount of bad tackles you can get away with in this game is unreal. All that needs to be said about this is that I'd rather the game made it hard for me to defend, as opposed to its current state where it's hard to attack and you're hoping "luck" goes your way in the final third. I don't want an automated system doing most of the work for me.
I think EA should stick to this base meta for a couple of years and make tweaks to it, instead of their awful routine of changing the whole system every year. When they change one thing (defending), another is broken (dribbling). Input delay is a killer but I'll let people in this thread think it doesn't exist. The game definitely feels more automated, and that's why I'm not enjoying this FIFA even when I'm winning. Also, Frostbite has lived up to its reputation. Great visuals but terrible gameplay. The visuals in this game are fantastic and all these new FUT modes look appealing, but the core is rotten.
