ye. ONLY. The guy played in the semi final of a world cup. If this was Chelsea, they would have got atleast 30 million for him or what they paid. Players that have been rotting on the bench for years at Chelsea still get sold at a premium price but at United your value, even after you have just signed a new contract is in negative.
I think he’s very similar in style to Herrera, who I like as a player. He’s got a good shot on him as well, which would be nice for our midfield to have as an option.Any particular reason why you think Nicolò Barella would be a good signing ?
This. 100%.Delighted to see the back of him.
Praising him for doing his job and not moaning is laughable. Millions of people across the country do the same every day for a fraction of his wage.
He had 18 months left on his contract.
Exactly.This. 100%.
The guy gets paid several million pounds a year to a kick a ball around and sign autographs. Doing his job is the absolutely bear minimum to be expected.
He’s not a bad player. A very good one in fact. Very surprised any team outside the top 6 didn’t go for him. Scored some important goals for us, and it’s thanks to him we made it to the knock outs of the CL this year.
His loyalty was to the managers and not the fans/club. Don't be fooled by this giving 100%. Look how he held the club to ransom for new contract. OGS was reportedly unhappy with his attitude- possibly because he stopped trying after Jose.
Good riddance.
Wages, there were reports that he is getting 11 million net wages, which is around 400K before tax.
Definitely, we don't have a good replacement for Matic yet. I can see Fred rotating with Herrera but all we have for Matic is McTominay. Unless Ole trusts in him then we'll need someone to gradually take over Matic's position. This surely means we’ll be bringing in another CM, with Periera possibly heading off at the end of the season too.
Ya gathered that after. Good deal anyway!I worded that badly, I meant the summer just gone, when Mourinho renewed him when it looked likely he was going to leave for nothing.
