Fellaini | Gone

Good to see that " always gave his best", " useful player" and " good to have as a plan B" no longer is enough to justify a place in the squad.

ye. ONLY. The guy played in the semi final of a world cup. If this was Chelsea, they would have got atleast 30 million for him or what they paid. Players that have been rotting on the bench for years at Chelsea still get sold at a premium price but at United your value, even after you have just signed a new contract is in negative.

This is nonsence, the fact that we got any fee at all is a surprise! The wage bill at United is ridiculous and we need to ship out all of these deadwood players earning over 100 - 150k per week for very little in return. We all know who they are.

Delighted to see the back of him.

Praising him for doing his job and not moaning is laughable. Millions of people across the country do the same every day for a fraction of his wage.

Funny thing with Fellaini, what made him decent at Everton, was when they played him up front as a number 10. He bullied defenders, got the flick ons, scored lots of goals. We played him in central midfield where he always looked out of his depth. He just fouled constantly. Elbowing and kicking people. How he stayed on the pitch I have no idea? When he did look useful was when we played him up top, but this was usually when we were a goal down and chasing the game. Proper hoofball stuff. God only knows why we signed him.

Any particular reason why you think Nicolò Barella would be a good signing ?
I think he’s very similar in style to Herrera, who I like as a player. He’s got a good shot on him as well, which would be nice for our midfield to have as an option.

Good luck Marouane. He's been a good servant and always gave his 100 percent. I wish all the players had his mentality.

So who's the next guy who'll get all the blame for everything?

It's pretty sad to see so much hate for the guy but that's life.

This. 100%.

The guy gets paid several million pounds a year to a kick a ball around and sign autographs. Doing his job is the absolutely bear minimum to be expected.

Good luck to him. Didn’t like his style but never hated him as he gave 100 percent. Glad he’s going though.

Never could fault his attitude but the guy isn't a football player. Maybe a MMA fighter, maybe wrestler but never a footballer. But like I said his attitude was great and I wish we would have more players in the squad with his attitude and with as much fight in them but preferably ones that are actually good footballers too. But yeah maybe that's asking too much.

His loyalty was to the managers and not the fans/club. Don't be fooled by this giving 100%. Look how he held the club to ransom for new contract. OGS was reportedly unhappy with his attitude- possibly because he stopped trying after Jose.
Good riddance.

Definitely don't share the glee others do in this thread. He's a good player and has played well for us. I can see why he's been let go though as we're moving away from the style of football.

Really hope we get someone else in before the deadline closes. Fellaini is our fourth best midfielder so we're screwed if our main 3 get a knock. Fred and Pereira are not good enough imo.

I am so happy for him. He'll finally be playing in a league that plays his level of football.

Most foreign players stand out like crazy when watching the highlights of Chinese Super League so, It'll should be super funny to watch fellaini playing there.

I'd expect £15-20m but £10.5m is fine by me. Frees up some of the wage budget too.

Good luck Fellaini.

I’d say this, I never wanted Fellaini, but now he’s gone I bore him no ill will, good luck in China.

Never a United player, but no one can ever fault him for lack of effort.

Gutted. He is much more useful than some player here. Not gutted for himself though , He will play in the place no one will boo and earn more than Pogba per week.

He’s not a bad player. A very good one in fact. Very surprised any team outside the top 6 didn’t go for him. Scored some important goals for us, and it’s thanks to him we made it to the knock outs of the CL this year.

Saying that he’s a symbol of what’s wrong with our style of play since Ferguson left. The last skeleton of Moyes. Had to go. Just not right for us.

Good luck Fellaini!

Exactly.
It's not like media and pundits are always looking for a way to criticize him like the likes of Pogba and lukaku, it's just the supporters.

Good deal for us. £10m is a decent price for a 31-year old player not really featuring in our plans. He had his moments here and gave it his all, so he does not deserve the mockery he is getting. However, it was also clear he was never good enough, and he came to represent the hoofball we played under Mourinho. Hope he does well in the final years of his career!

Hasn't done much wrong in the past year or so, much better than the start of his time here at least. With that being said, he's not the sort of player we want at a club like this and glad that he's finally off.

Wages, there were reports that he is getting 11 million net wages, which is around 400K before tax.

I wish him all the best and I think we can all agree he done the best he could in his time here but he epitomises everything that's been wrong with us since Sir Alex left so I'm not sorry to see him leave.

Good riddance.

He's like Sampson. When he cut off his hair, his powers disappeared.

All that stuff about him being a supersub is bollocks too. This guy knows a thing or two about being a supersub and he got rid of The Mop as soon as he could.

This surely means we’ll be bringing in another CM, with Periera possibly heading off at the end of the season too.

Like it or not, Moyes, LVG, Mourinho and Fellaini were part of Manchester United.

Fellaini played 177 games in the United shirt. Not our best years, but it will be part of Manchester United history.

All the best in China, Fellaini.

Never United quality and should never have been signed in the first place. Saying that, I wish him well.

Definitely, we don't have a good replacement for Matic yet. I can see Fred rotating with Herrera but all we have for Matic is McTominay. Unless Ole trusts in him then we'll need someone to gradually take over Matic's position.

Play him as a number 10 and he should dominate in China. Assuming his wages are the issue because he would have been useful for many premier league teams.

I wish him well. Not my favourite player by a long stretch but he had a great attitude. He always gave his best in the face if a lot of undeserved abuse.

I almost wonder if we should have kept him til the summer given how awful Fred, Pereira and McTomminay have been. We only have 3 CMs that are up to it with a heap of tough matches on the horizon.

He will be quite an attacking force in China, it's a fair bet he will be 6 inches taller than most players.
