Felipe Anderson

60m for him would be a travesty. We could get Lucas Moura for less money than that, and he is a better player.

I wouldn't pay that for Moura either, Don't think he is this great player that he seems to be on the Caf.

I'm calling BS but surely the club would not commit to a new signing unless they have decided who the manager is going to be next season is going to be? Clubs making signings and not managers rarely ends well.

You're wrong. In fact, we're the only top club, along with Arsenal, where the manager 100% makes the decision on who should be signed, no other top club works this way, not Barca, not Real Madrid, not Juve, not even Bayern, that's the job of the sporting directors, the manager/coach is hired primarily to coach the team. In fact, our model is the reason we haven't signed a competent CB since Rio & Vidic left.

I hope we haven't spent 60m on him. I'm not entirely convinced with any left winger not named Reus.

It does appear that the quotes are true. More local journalists at the event are saying it's true. The only explanation now, is that the president is a liar.

They couldn't get their big sale in January and now they have to start it all up again in hope for the summer.

If we haven't bought him, surely it makes them look really stupid. Because they are saying he is sold, so nobody is going to come in with more money.

If we have paid that sort of money it just shows that in January we were in full panic mode. He isn't worth that. Lazio are laughing their socks off.
I'd argue that with the exception of a couple, every player we've signed has been ridiculously overpriced, this seems to fit in with that trend.

Jesus that's a lot of money. We really are throwing it about lately. Can we maybe sell off Rooney & Mata to China and make some money back please!? Nonsense from Ed if true.

Even Paddy Power at taking the piss.

feck Lazio website with them posting facts and stopping the pessimism here.

Thanks god. He really isn't a player where we should pay that much, would be a big gamble and he isn't even that good this season.

Wish more clubs would do that when we're linked with a player.

A bit different when the allegation is that a club director has said the player has been sold tbh

Weird that they'd issue a statement now after all that time of speculation.

Speculation is one thing, a director saying a player has been sold it another all together.

But either he said it or he didn't. If he didn't say it then it falls into the speculation bracket anyway, so why bother commenting?

Becasue speculation is "sources claim" stuff, not directly saying a director stated something as fact.
