FAO Weaste

Well Weaste I love SE phones hence the nickname.:p
Shall I tell you something? I don't care if PS3 is better because I'm a consumer that thinks with his pocket. When PS3 shows that it is indeed better then it'll deserve my purchase.

Weaste:

If you die, would you like us to say 'RIP' on here or would you prefer us not to say it?

It wasn't meant it a bad way, although I can see how people might think it would be.

I'm genuinely asking how he would react. I mean, he's been here with posters he's known for over 6 years! Now, they are still strangers to him in a way, but then again they are not.

My son's x-box is getting a bit long in the tooth and if the proce cuts reach Australia soon I might be tempted by the PS3 since it will be almost half the cots of aa standalone bluray box. Does the PS3 work as a dvd recorder as well?

Recorder? No!

Stupid thing they didn't put in it (not direct to optical disc, would never expect that, but to HD). There are no video inputs or a card slot. However, it runs Linux, so, with a simple USB device, the answer to your question is technically yes. Can't burn a disc though.

Some I would have no problem saying it, other I would not want them doing it for reasons previously gone over.

I'm an opinionated cnut though, and probably go too far sometimes. My problem is that what was once acceptable behaviour on these forums is no longer acceptable behaviour due to the dynamic of the net and the times.

Well, not with the internal drive. USB again would come to the rescue, and you can pick up external USB DVD recorders for the price of a packet of chewits nowadays.

Don't even ask about recordable Blu-ray unless you have a shed load of cash.
