Just been reported on the news... .

Jaysus...

The body of the 53-year-old was found at his Leeson Street apartment this morning.

The father-of-five from Clontarf in Dublin had been broadcasting on 2fm for over two decades.

Gardaí say they are investigating - however it’s not thought foul play is suspected.

My money is on a massive heart attack.

How serious are you?

Died of a heart attack apparently.

it always amused me that he hosted that operation transformation programme

Was he the Irish Hugh Hefner?

He was a very sweaty man.
That's how I'll always remember him.

Goodnight, sweet prince. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest.

I think they're his daughters bickie. I may be wrong though.

I couldn't stand him as a broadcaster but its fairly shocking, he's been a mainstay of Irish radio for as long as I can remember.

Whatever you think of him 54 is no age to go at, and he has 5 kids, youngest about 10 I think.

I used like his night slot on R2 years ago. I'm never really shocked and rarely moved by 'famous' people dying, same to me as any death in the paper.

I loved his show on late night radio when he was a youngun, Fanning followed by him was a great end to the day, he became such an aulwan when he moved to the mainstream slots.

Who were they then? Did they use him in Guantanamo or something?

I used to work in a shop in Lucan when I was younger and the owner had 2fm on constantly. I'd say it was the same for a lot of people who had the radio on at work.

I'd say that was Ryan's main demographic- a captive audience who had no other choice.

Jesus, listening to 2FM at the moment would bring you to tears even if it was Osama Bin Laden that had died.
