Our games rarely come on HD anyway. Most people have ESPN and not ESPN HD so the big games/teams tend to be shown on ESPN. And if PL and La Liga are both on, it's La Liga on HD because of less demand for it I guess.
Yup the order is first espn then star and then hd. So you get most of the city's match on hd.
Not football related, but was watching the big bash on star cricket. Perth needed 2 of 1 ball and they finished the coverage. WTF?

ESPN has taken too much on it's plate. I hate it when they show post-game analysis till 9 instead of PL from the beginning. I don't like they have the rights to three of the big four leagues.

La Liga is fine when they do the late night games with Sky Analysis, but irritating when they do the evening games and cut straight to it from PL.
They've bloody bought all the main Cricket rights and want to run it on 2 channels usually concurrently. Then they have almost all the other major rights too.

Btw, the go is they have bought the PL rights again from next year for about 4 times the current amount. MSM (Sony) was the other bidder but missed out.

Tbf, it's harsh to blame ESPN for that. They've taken the rights for BPL in the whole region. What the hell are other channels there for though? 2 Neo channels, 3 ten channels and 1 which Sony has launched.

Missing Indian student Souvik Pal's body found in a canal in UK
London: Indian student Souvik Pal, who went missing on New Year's Eve, has been found dead after the British police recovered his body from a canal.
18-year-old Souvik was found dead by specialist officers in Bridgewater Canal, near Manchester United's Old Trafford football ground, at 2 pm on Tuesday.
Souvik, an international student who had enrolled for product design course at Manchester Metropolitan University, disappeared on a night out at the Warehouse Project in Trafford, Greater Manchester.
He was last seen at the event at about 11 pm and was reported missing by a flatmate the following morning.
The police which had pursued tracing Souvik offered condolences to the family and extended their support.
"Our thoughts and condolences are with Souvik's family at this devastating time and our officers are doing all they can to support them," said Detective Chief Inspector Colin Larkin.
"We do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances surrounding Souvik's death and a file will be submitted to the coroner in due course."
Souvik's father Santanu had travelled from his home in Bangalore to help with the search.
A number of appeals were made to trace his son, including the use of digital advertising hoardings at Manchester United's domestic Premier League of Football home game against Liverpool.
Souvik had trained for a part-time job serving refreshments at the stadium and worked at Manchester United's game against West Bromwich Albion on December 29.
So tragic.

The amount of cricket on TV here is nauseating.
Last saturday, they had two channels for the Ind-Eng game and the other channel showing fkin Big Bash bollocks, while the Australian Open was going on. And when it's not some pointless live match, it's usually a highlights show featuring something like 'India's greatest losses batting second in Sri Lanka'.

We really shouldn't complain all that much considering we get to watch all of United's games live here, no matter how small the game. It's improved a lot more over the years. I remember when United v Fulham on the opening day of the season or Liverpool v United in the FA Cup weren't shown in favour of tennis or some Moto GP.
Yes I remember a few years back once in awhile our premier league games wouldn't be shown live. But things have changed now. Over thee last few years loads of sports channels have cropped up so naturally more gets shown.
DishTv has Football on Demand in tie up with Ten. I don't know the full details but that sounds awesome. If would be great if one of this DTH providers can tie up a deal with all sports channels for FOD. I wouldn't mind paying for the selective games that I want to watch.
