Fantasy Premier League 22/23

I'm playing fantasy after a while (started again last season) and had no idea how much of a science this has become.

Feels strange to see people following advanced statistics and prediction model Twitter accounts to make changes for a game that was considered just fun and casual.

Games moved on man. You're Vibes FC', we've all got tablets and people in the stadiums tracking player movement now.

Ah you see I get a pass because I always treat her with my mini league winnings. Took her to L'Enclume a few years back.
The other day my wife asked me to look at dining tables... Right before deadline.

Then she shouts "did you find any?" And I'm like "yeah yeah just finding a few more"

Then my snitch daughter goes "no he's not, he's looking at this thing with Football shirts and changing them around"

 perfection description of the futility of it all.

Talking of daughters ....

Im a male, I have 2 younger brothers and no sisters.

I have 2 sons of my own, I'm now married to a women that has 2 daughters aged between 11 and 14.

I have therefore inherited 2 step daughters ...

And ill be honest ... THEY ARE WAY WAYYYYY HARDER THAN ANY BROTHER OR SON EVER WAS.

There .. I have said it ...

Happened with me too. I was working from home and my wife told my 1.5 yr old daughter not to disturb me. Of course she doesn't listen and comes and stares at my laptop and goes "Ball... kick.."

Right, decision time! For the first time all season, this one is doing my head in.

Going to FH and then BB for a variety of reasons.

- For some reason, I really want Solly March this week and 29.
- I don’t want to transfer out Salah/Haaland while keeping the money to bring them back.
- I hate the idea of fielding a terrible 9 next GW (inc only two in midfield) when I have momentum.
- I don’t want to have a front three of Nacho/Watkins/Toney coming out of 29.
- I don’t want to be carrying players up to at least GW32 that I don’t need, just for a BB.
- In theory, I have several weeks to plan for what is coming :nervous:

-4 this week to bring in March and Darwin for Bournemouth to try and recoup the hit and that leaves me another -4 away from a very respectable team/bench in 29. (-8 if I fancy Bruno over Saka on the bench)

Once I click on the March transfer, I am locked into it and at least I can stop thinking about it in work

Doing a WC this week. Too many underperforming players and not ready for DGW and BGW.

Keep Salah and do Watkins, Toney, Haaland or drop Watkins and Salah and get Kane and second Brighton midfielder?

I hope you were on FPL and not those other dodgy sites :nervous:

5 dgw players, worth adding another ? I actually kinda want to get rid of kane again but every time I own him he doesn't do anything but when I take him out he scores

You can’t get rid of Kane before a home fixture to Forest surely? Especially since he is a playing option in 28. Forest, Southampton, Everton and Bournemouth in his next 5.

Also, do you see anyone having fun in here?

I swear it used to be a bit more fun. You'd go off gut feel, jump on someone with a decent looking fixture, then revel in the haul when others didn't.

Now with fantasy scout, and numerous "expert" channels and sites, it's become utterly reduced into templates, from day 1. And even worse chip routines!

Taking Haaland out too?

Free hit week 32 I've heard. Presume that's FA Cup semi weeks and likely to ravage us and City?
Are you really getting any advantage in getting a FH on 32 ? It's just us ,City and Brighton. That's Haaland,Rashford and possibly Shaw / Mitoma.

You can WC on 32 and be prepared for the remaining fixtures. FH on 29 can give you 11 DGW players .

Tis true. My greatest FPL day ever was when Callum Wilson came back from a long injury lay off with Bournemouth. Had a gut feeling about him on the Saturday, stuck him in and he only went and bagged a hatty. Not a single person in any of my leagues had him and people thought I was some kind of witch.

Haaland, Shaw, Rashford, 3x BHA, possibly DDG who I will have in WC27.
That's because you are WC ing now, right? For someone like me who is yet to WC , 32 is the probably the best.

Maybe, I haven't a clue.

But yeah after 29 if I WC now I could easily end up with 5-6 players from those teams. It is why I really want to wait till at least 29 for WC because we will know the exact fixtures and blanks, but for that I will have to sacrifice either this DGW or the BGW. I don't really like FH in 28.

This GW was pretty awesome in that regard, even though quite a few had Salah but watching a lot having WCed him out and him smashing points after points.

As a United fan I don't think I can ever call this last gameweek awesome. I've got PTSD from that second half. :(

It can, but where would you use your BB for best effect?

Maybe
W/C this week
F/H next week
BB week after?

Haven't looked too closely to be honest.

Think I can field 9 next week as it stands, so could just do Mahrez to Mitoma this week, and go in with just Toney & Mitoma from the doublers.

Similar when I randomly put Valencia in away to Wolves.
I was at the game, in the Wolves end, and had to silently whoop when we won 5-0, with Valencia going absolutely appenhaller.
The next week everyone had him.

But early season you'd have loads of different variants before 3-4 weeks in the good value options came to light.
These days you look at your rivals and they've all got 12/13 of what you have from day 1.

Yeah I totally agree but with the popularity of the game rising, this was always gonna happen.

It's been ages since I've had any interest in actual football so I was enjoying watching those smug faces of FPL Twitter getting pasted into oblivion.

Oh I do love that. They're so annoyingly vocal when they've had a good week but there's tumbleweeds every time after a GW like we just had.

I only follow Ben Crellin, that guy with the bookies odds and a couple of funny ones like Hindu Monkey and FPL Prop. Not interested in any other so called 'experts' and especially twatty Leeds fans like Andy Martin who just seems to get off on trolling. Bunch of pricks.

I'M aN FpL CoNTenT CreATOr :wenger: :boring:

Remember that Bulgarian guy who won the league one year, but one of his "friends" on a private messaging group ratted him out to the organisers for racism?

That was utterly bizarre. The way he was so absolutely matter of fact with zero apology on his explanation video was the worst bit.

What's your team?
Ward, Pope
Shaw, Ake, Gabriel, Trips, Perraud
Salah, Saka, Rashford, Andreas and Mahrez
Watkins, Haaland, Mbeumo

The team looks absolutely dreadful now that I had to type it all out :D

Blocked that moron ages ago. Yeah most of them are copy pasting turds. I generally follow the ones that post raw stats, fixture plans etc.

Yeah you want people that give you useful data but don't guide you with it. Too much twitter and reddit can cloud your thinking. Also the old eye test. I try to watch as much football as I can.

Yep. There's that FMLFPL pod which is generally a right laugh that I sometimes watch and they made a point that loads of people who play FPL now watch 10 hours of FPL youtube videos but a total of 1 match in the entire weekend.

Wow, yeah you are ripe for a WC.
So

Raya, Ward
Gabriel, Henry, Estupinan, Trippier, Chilwell/James
Saka
, March/MacAllister, Mitoma, Rashford, Martinelli/Odegaard
Toney
, Haaland, Kane

Is Mee any better than Henry/Pinnock? Could do Gabriel to White to free money if needed.
And are Chelsea defenders worth it?

Plan to get rid of one Brighton midfielder to get someone who is available in the BGW so that it will be 10 players

Or should I retain Salah and come up with a different plan.

I don't think Mee is worth the extra no. And personally I don't trust Chelsea defenders (for rotation reasons) especially in a double with a quick turnaround of games.

Yeah my WC has Salah and no Haaland. Henry would be my pick from Brentford as he's actually attacking. Pinnock scored his first goal in ages from a massive deflection. Chilwell looks great, my worry is with them going forward in CL and fixtures coming close in the double when you need him, will he be rested? Potter is a maniac when it comes to rotation.

I was thinking for getting rid of Haaland, but it would be a bit tough to get him back at the price he is on now.

Need some help with this team. What's the strategy going forward? Thinking to WC but not sure on that.

Kepa Ward
Trippier Mee Shaw White Bueno
Saka Martinelli Rashford Gakpo Mahrez
Haaland Kane Gnonto
