Fantasy Premier League 21/22

How the flippery have I ended up with Doherty, Tierney and Rudiger and Holgate.

1.2m to sort this mess out....

Ramsdale Dubravaka
TIERNEY DOHERTY RUDIGER Holgate TAA
Saka Ramsey Rapha Salah (c) Kulu
Kane Toney Wegy

What's the best play to 1)deal with defender issues, and 2)maximise doublers?

@Dirty Schwein @Moby and crew...
Rudi is surely out for the West ham game. If he has a chance of coming back for the United game probably keep him. Doherty to Laporte can be a straight move for you.

Far too much money in that forward line especially Weghorst who looks done. If you have a wildcard now is the time.

Get defenders who double? Rudiger is only doubtful no? Get rid of Tierney and Doherty as they are 100% out... Maybe bring in Laporte or Alonso?

Keeping Bruno? Mctominay is back now I think. Thus surely he will play more attacking.

Arsenal and Chelsea been awful at defending recently. Very suprisingly since they did defend very well before that.

He got two games so the odds of him returning should be pretty good, but yes we could equally well be awful again.
Thus I still got Saka, Ramsdale and 3 Chelsea players to balance the odds this time. Although I should probably bench Ramsdale to be honest.

My original plan was to get Bruno and then bring in Mount for Barnes and have James, Rudiger, Mount and Bruno with doubles. Since Mount went up I can't do that plan anymore I am 0.1 short.

Dude - get rid of our players. Don't bring in anymore for the rest of the season. Focus on other areas. You don't have Salah? Get him in for Bruno...

May do a -4.
Kane to Ronaldo for the fun of it (I'm at the game tomorrow too), and Tierney to either James or Alonso.

Did look at a -8 but I simply can't wangle Mount in there.

Current thinking FH team

Mendy (Steele)
Laporte
Cancelo
Matip
Robbo
James
Bernardo
Mount
Salah
Kulu
Ronaldo

(Steele-Delph-Greenwood-Dobbin, cheapest possible shit.... so risking any kind of rest here, but I .3 in the bank... )

My issues are Ronaldo, but it looks like he's probably starting. Silva's potential for a rest since he's forever playing..... basically yeah those, and the Mount/Havertz thing is a tossup...

Can someone suggest one MF to pick for my draft for a 1 week punt. Price doesn't matter

Maddison (AVL), Barnes (AVL), Harrison (CRY), Raphinha (CRY), Guimaraes (NOR), Bowen (CHE), Elanga (ARS,CHE), Luis Diaz (EVE)

I'm currently on this I think

DDG
TAA, Cancelo, Laporte, Varane
Salah, Jota, Mount, Havertz, Sterling
Werner

I feel like FH in 37 is the best possible option no?

Can triple Villa + Everton. And then have your spurs/chelsea etc players for 38 where the fixtures are perfect. Everyone should be able to field a full team of doublers for 36 regardless...

I have BB and TC also... bit of a ludicrous situation to be in, but 30 behind my money league leader who has nothing left. Just yeah, overall, I don't know how it's come to this but I had to WC or FH the week everyone TC'd Salah, which paid off fine.... but I have to use BB in 36, TC in either 37 (Salah away to Sou), or 38 (Kane away to Nor)

Or TC Salah in 36 and BB in 37 -- manoeuvre some more AV/Eve players in

Yeah, it's 34v37 for the FH. I'm going back and forth on this.

It will be -12 this week if I don't FH because I have no Cancelo, Sterling and a chelsea attacker and I want all of them in. So I will do Kane, Maddison, Schar, Weghorst to Werner, Sterling, Cancelo, 4.5 fwd. But after that I can ride without any hits and FH in 37 and never care about getting Villa, Everton etc players in my main team. On paper that definitely looks good.

One issue with FH37 is the same as it was with FH33 - do you go against great SGW players from the big teams to get DGW players from shit teams? That is a recipe to get burnt especially if all of City, Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs still have plenty to play for.

But yeah, overall, I FH in one of those 2, and overall my hits are more or less the same for the rest of the GWs. I guess it won't be a huge difference in either of them, but it is probably easier to set up a team for 34 than it will be for 37 without a FH.

Ok absolute last knockings...

-4 for Chelsea defender & Ronaldo for Tierney & Kane?
James or Alonso?

@Moby @Cutch @Dirty Schwein @BeforeKeanetherewasRobson @Paul_Scholes18 @CassiusClaymore @Dan_F
I personally wouldn't get in United players at this point, and I know Ronaldo can easily score in this GW. But if that's your plan that should work ok.

James vs Alonso is tough. Tuchel has said James can play either RWB or RCB so while that improves his chances of playing it could be not as attacking as he usually is. Alonso if plays will always be attacking, and has done well recently. I personally think both of them will play, but it's a coin toss really.

Sterling I am warning you Pep will feck you.

This week is really tricky with Man City. I think they can rest players for Europe, but they also need to win as well.

Now I actually think Sterling will start in CL. Thus I think Foden is more safe for the league.
Odds are Mahrez and KDB are rested and both Sterling and Foden start with no Grealish.

If you are this worried, why no Grealish? He doesn't play in the CL... so surely he's the lock for starting? I'm very tempted to put him in, while getting Elanga's DBL on my bench as backup... also tempted to rock Zinchenko over Cancelo, but if I do that, I need to get 2 players on my bench. fecking Pep man!

I agree this week with City is nuts, I'm not even sure Laporte is a lock... but as close as it gets.

Sterling always starts vs Watford and has 8 goals in last 5 games, Mahrez has started 9/10 CL games this season and played 2 days ago while Sterling has been rested.

There's never really a 100% guarantee with Pep but Sterling this game is as good as it can get and with the upside it is a decent punt. If it fails it fails.

Would you convert a -8 to a -12 to get Cancelo instead of Laporte/Alonso? Since this is transfers the question is for GW 34-36 and 38 (37 is FH).

Same front 6. A lot of eggs in 3 baskets but looks like goals doesn't it? I can't afford TAA if I go Laporte and Cancelo. My back 4 would be those two plus VVD and Schar instead.

Who's your captain?

If you have a triple captain, you need to put that on Salah in 36. Hardly anyone has that chip left. Spurs at home (Salah always scores vs them) and a Villa side, on the beach, who have been absolutely shite on the sly since Gerrard took over (close to the relegation zone now?). Not to mention the stakes at that point. I'm really hoping City double in 37 but I think that's unlikely. If they do double in 36 then Cancelo/KDB for the triple captain - though i still think Salah is the no brainer. I'd consider bench boosting just whenever your bench has decent fixtures tbh.

Freehit in 37 gives you the op to have players (Villa, Everton, Palace) that you don't want to think about otherwise. That's why i'm using then. Also a differential. People will probably take hits to get these guys in, which screws their GW 38 team - which should more or less be the same as your 36 team, considering the fixtures.

If I do that then gotta be Havertz. Sterling is tasty but it's still Pep who can throw a curveball.

So are you 100% going on with the FH? What are your plans for 37?

Are you thinking City are getting their double in 37? I thought the more likely spot for that was 36 (Crellin seems to think so)?

Either way I'll have Foden and Cancelo by then which I'm ok with. Also Watkins, Gordon, Maddison and I can bring in Coutinho or a Villa defender.

You are taking multiple risks here I think with Jota and Sterling. The upside is high, but I feel it is not really worth a free hit for me.

If City double in 37 then it kinda settles it and FH goes to 37. But I am assuming that double goes to 36 and even then I am not sure which is the better week for FH. Yes 34 is really tasty due to the big teams, but I don't have any jobbers from Villa, Everton etc and don't wanna spend transfers to get them in, especially as they also shit the bed in 38. 34-36 +38 you need all the big teams, but for 37 you need some of those smaller teams and FH can do well there.

It's so close but I think you might not lose that much this GW but taking a few hits instead of FH, setting your team up for the remaining GWs except 37. Like I can get Cancelo, Sterling, Werner for -12, which probably pays off over those 4 GWs, and I dont have the headache for 37.

Other option is obviously to forget about the teams doubling in 37, because setting a decent team in that GW will cost more transfers and surgery with transfers I think.

I think I will submit that -12 today, then see tomorrow if I wanna roll with that or turn it into a FH.

It's not just that. I don't have any city players, and I get 3 vs Watford at home. I only have 1 chelsea player and get 3 and those are the ones I particularly don't want long term, and Jota for differential as most will have Liverpool covered by triple already. So overall that's enough upside and in all likelihood better than whatever you gain in 37.

I personally think 37 have higher capacity with the doubles.

I think for safety this week might be better if you go just the best options like 3 Chelsea etc.

Does it though if the City game doesn't go in there? Burnley, Everton, Palace, Leicester, Villa. 2 fighting relegation and 3 teams on the beach.

Yes it is just this week has lots of really good fixtures I say.

Like if you have Newcastle picks they play Norwich.
Arsenal play us and we are quite bad recently.
Spurs have Brentford.
You probably have 2 Pool vs Everton.

With my personal def I got Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Newcastle which I am quite happy with.
Would have had Rudiger as well if not for the injury. Like the only real improvement I think would get both Liverpool fullbacks or both Chelsea ones.

And even if you do get them, it will mean leaving some of the players from the Liv, Che, Ars, Spurs out when they would likely have more to play for. That's the headache I don't want. If there's one thing this season has taught us it is more fixtures doesn't mean more points.

Well yes even if you do not want those teams fully you could still go 3 Liverpool vs Southampton.
I think Villa and Everton picks are decent and could work out well.

It's team dependant, if you have cover for all the teams then fine. I don't have any City players and I don't wanna go ahead without anything in a City vs Watford game, nor do I wanna go ahead without Chelsea doublers so it's different.

Same issue comes up in 37. Liverpool, City, Arsenal, Spurs all have good games, so would you get doubles from shit teams over the big team players that you have in your main team with good fixtures?
