Fantasy Football 2017/18

65 points all told - happy with that
60 here which I'm very happy about considering the squad and "drop in form" for the past two weeks. Had dropped several 100k but now back way up and managed to get ahead some more in my mini-league. All thanks to a late and Chitty Sterling goal.

79 points for me. Over the moon. Better than everyone else in my mini league (although I'm still in 6th...)

Thinking of shipping Lukaku out for Aguero. Thoughts?

One badly out of form vs. someone always scoring (+penalties). Problem is that Aguero will be rested, Lukaku plays every minute.

Aguero playing 20 minutes for City probably has the same chance of scoring as Lukaku over 90 minutes though.

Getting rid of Aguero this game week. He probably won't play tomorrow and he's too much money for someone who is being rotated. Might bring in Glenn Murray and spend the spare cash on bringing in Hazard.

Some muppet in my league stuck a triple captain on Aguero. And someone else on Kane. Think it was a desperate (and unsuccessful) attempt to stop me winning manager of the month.

Anyway, now that's over Lukaku out and Morata in for Chelsea's run of games.

Squad at moment

Elliot/Pope
Mustafi/Alonso/Moreno/Mee/Naughton
Salah/Sane/Sterling/Richarlison/Surman
Kane/Morata/Wilson

£1.1m in the bank. Think I'll upgrade my gk or defence with that or stick the out of position Choupo-Moting in for Surman.

Actually Chelsea's run of fixtures looks so good I might just stick Courtois in for Pope and leave him there for the next 2 months. Look at this...

v Swansea (H)
v Newcastle (H)
v West Ham (A)
v Huddersfield (A)
v Southampton (H)
v Bournemouth (H)
v Everton (A)
v Brighton (H)
v Stoke (H)

Really nice squad and agree with you re Chelsea. Saying that, Hazard has been absolutely electric the last few weeks. He was superb against Liverpool again in the first half at least. Can't help but think he is about to hit a rich vein of scoring form.

Aguero does rotate but more often than not he plays. And when he does come off the bench he has a high chance of scoring. I don't know if Lukaku will play every minute since Zlatan is back. Jose did hint at resting him once the big man was back.

Nah. Aguero/Jesus are too at risk for rotation. Do you already have morata and Kane?

Yes I already have Kane and Morata as well.

Assuming Lukaku gets the ban, then I'm thinking of getting Rashford in and upgrading a midfielder to Hazard.

Rashford can score against Arsenal and City as we've seen, so could work out.

I brought him for the same reasons against Spurs and Chelsea and it's been a pain since. I will be getting rid probably after Arsenal. Knowing my luck so far, he could have a great December. Just my 2 cents.

I have started pretty good, approaching 800 points, but have done pretty bad the last couple of rounds. Starting to really feel the pressure of bringing in Hazard, they have two "easy" home games coming up and then pretty good fixtures over Christmas.

Thinking of taking out Eriksen who has started to be marked out of games, he is the only one I have in midfield which has the value/price to let me include Hazard. I also have to make another trade, which might have to be Vertonghen for Christensen at Chelsea. Can't include Hazard without making another trade.....

Would you wait or go for the 4 point hit? Tottenham are of course very able to blast three past Leicester on a good day, but Spurs look terrible in the last few games and Eriksen seems jaded.

Go for Haz.

I'm never scared to take a 4 point hit. That said if I hadn't taken any I'd be clear top of my league

Based on Chelsea's fixtures alone I'd do it. Not 100% sure about Christensen though. Is he nailed or could Luiz reclaim his place? Any alternatives?

Brought in Morata for Aguero, since I don’t think Aguero is likely to play 90 minutes midweek and Chelsea have some great fixtures coming up.

Now debating whether to captain Morata, or stick with Kane.

Anyone else looking to bring in a Chelsea defender? Thinking about selling Davies since he’ll probably be rested this gw and others to come.

Cahill, Christensen, Luiz, Zappa or Rüdiger?

Azpi and Moses too expensive for now.

Who’d be best short and long term?

So this is my team:

Elliot
Ward, Monreal, Moreno
Gross, Pogba, Sane, Richarlison
Morata, Kane, Lukaku.

Forster, Naughton, King, Mbemba.

with 0.9 in the bank.

I am thinking of downgrading Lukaku and bringing in one of Hazard/Salah. The question is, which striker to go for and which midfielder to sacrifice.

One option is: Lukaku -> Callum Wilson, King -> Salah and change the formation to 3-5-2.

Thoughts?

I currently have Hazard and Aguero but thinking of swapping them for Morata and Sane, which will free up funds to upgrade Elliot to DDG... but reluctant as Hazard seems to be bang in form and he's my wildcard as no one else has him in my mini leagues.

I wouldn’t take Hazard out. From what I’ve seen he is playing really well, think he could be on for some big hauls over the next few gameweeks

Hazard is probably the last player I would take out of my team at the moment if I had him. He’s playing really well and Chelsea have incredible fixtures.

He’ll also continue to rise in price over the next month.

I think Aguero to Morata makes sense and is a good move.

I've swapped Eriksen out for Hazard myself due to good points you just made - in form and no one in my league currently has him as an option. Wondering if it'd be too audacious making him captain considering Chelsea's upcoming fixtures and said increase in form? Trade off is that Morata is capable and a lot of my league's current captain so I don't want to fall behind if I'm wrong.

Elliot
Ward/Mustafi/Vertonghen
Pogba/Mooy/Hazard/Ritchie
Vardy/Lukaku/Morata(C)

I'm relatively happy with my team. I thought of aiming to swap Lukaku for Kane, but my superstitious self thinks as soon as I do, he'll start banging them in (maybe I should stop being selfish and take one for the team ). Team looks weird without any City players considering their form, but I have a feeling Hazard and Lukaku - especially with Pogba back - are going to be too good to pass.

Any thoughts?

Struggling with captain choice...Hazard, Morata, Kane or Salah.

Currently leaning towards Hazard with Morata a close second. Worried about rotation though.

Luiz isn't playing. He's "injured". Christensen has played every minute so should be a good pick and he's also the cheapest. Rüdiger and Zappacosta more likely to be benched. Cahill costs 0.8 more than Christensen so shouldn't really be an option. Moses is in a similar price range and has just come back from injury.

Thanks, went for Christensen earlier today.:)

This is awful.

Harry Kane absolutely shafting me once again.

feck sake. I swap Ritchie for Gross and gross does nothing whilst Ritchie finally gets an assist

Up to 40k which is good though I suspect I'll drop tomorrow after the Chelsea game given I have already used my Captain on Kane.

Also just took an 8 point hit (taking way too many of these):

Out: Naughton, Krul, Lukaku
In: Alonso, Pope, Vardy

Gives me a line up of

------------- Pope --------
--- Alonso - Daniels - Moreno --
Sterling - Salah - Sane - Richarlison
--- Vardy -- Kane -- Morata ----

I'm going to get rid of Jones and the two options are Mustafi or Christensen, both 5.4.

I had my head set on Mustafi but Cheslea's next 8 fixtures are decent. Will Christensen play every game now that Luiz is out in the cold?

How long is Jones out for? I think Christensen is a good buy, I brought him in this week

Christensen seems a great option, at least for the next 2/3 weeks. I'm going to get rid of Jones next week as I already taken a hit but he could be an option.

Finally getting to a point where i'm happy with the team.

Foster
Mee/Daniels/Walker
D.Silva/Salah/Sterling/Gross
Kane/Morata/Niasse

Jones, Cork and Rosenior.

Looking to upgrade Cork to someone around the 5.5 range, what's a good option? I took Ritchie out to get Sterling and Niasse but I could probably bring him back in a couple weeks.

Thinking of doing the same with Surman and with £1.1m in the bank I have the exact funds to get in Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting who's only got 3 goals but has been playing up front for Stoke all season and they have Swansea next gw. Would give me a midfield of Salah, Sterling, Sane, Richarlison & him which looks tasty.

That said with Elliot being benched last night it now looks like I don't have a reserve goalkeeper so it might be more prudent to cover that. My other gk is Pope although his next 5 fixtures look decent there's also a temptation to remove him (I guess he'll make way for a fit again Heaton at some point) and stick Courtois in with the Chelsea run.

I'm liking option 2 at the moment as it looks like a points guarantee whereas you never know what you're gonna get with attacking players, not to mention Stoke ones.

Elliott -- Foster

Daniels -- Otamendi -- Ward -- Naughton -- Mbemba

Pogba -- Salah -- Sterling -- Richarlison -- Zaha

Niasse -- Kane -- Morata

So either I get a goalie and replace Mbemba this week or Get Hazard and RLC for Sterling and Zaha. Leaning towards Haz but will end up doing the goalie/defense upgrade.

Jones may only be out for another week or 2, but the issue now is United have Smalling, Bailly, Lindelof and Rojo in the mix so Jones will face more rotation. Christensen seems like a good option as long as he plays. I'll see if he starts tonight and if he does I'll transfer him in.

Doucoure is good value
