Fantasy Football 2017/18

Nothing much needs changing there. Looks a decent balanced side. Only thing I probably would change is Hennessey as my back up keeper. Why not just pick Elliott and spend the £0.5m elsewhere or save it for a rainy day?
Did change Hennessey for Elliot and upgraded Quaner to Calvert-Lewin so I now have good bench in case of injuries etc.

I've got McAuley (injured until 27th August), Walker (now suspended) and Rangel (not playing) so need to shake up my defence. I don't want to WC yet, as I'm generally happy with my team, however I'm considering taking a -4 hit to make two transfers.

This is my team:

Foster
Cedric Walker Daniels
Pogba Willian Matic Alli
Lukaku Kane Chicharito

Hart, Milivojevic, Rangel, McAuley

I'd like to get Bailly in and that would also force me to drop Matic, whom I think could be upgraded. Any suggestions on an alternative to Bailly though, as a direct Walker replacement?

Upgrade Walker to Alonso and downgrade McAuley to a £4.5 ?

I could swap Kane/Mee out for Morata/Alonso after the next game (assuming prices don't change). Very very tempting

That's a good option actually. Chelsea's fixtures don't look great in the next few weeks though and I think Matic needs upgraded, whilst McAuley will be a good pick once he's fit. I'll keep thinking - thanks for the suggestion!

Ahhh and breath...

Tbh i'm not sure if a WC is drastically needed or I just take another -4 hit next week (providing that KdB and Rodriguez continue to blank) thoughts?

Forster - Foster
Bellerin - Bertrand - Zanka - Francis(!) - Suttner
KdB - Willian - Pogba - Chabolah - Brunt
Lukaku - Kane - Rodriguez

I have de Bruyne too. Will give him two more weeks to see if his attacking role increases.

Keep Rodriguez. He's not expensive, plays regularly, has decent fixtures. Sub him if you want, but don't waste a transfer on him. He ain't the culprit!

I'd keep an eye on Bellerin though. Wenger played him on the left last match :wenger: Can't be sure of him in clean sheets or attack.

What exactly would you like to change with the WC ?

I don't know I just want the points man!

Yea Bellerin is next on the chopping board, tbh currently I'm just missing out on points in the midfield, brought in Pogba this week so ideally get Eriksen if KdB doesn't work out.

That Richarlison for Watford could be a big asset this year too. Down as a midfielder but playing as a forward alongside Okaka/Deeney? Similar to King last season.

I used my wildcard and decided to go with him because he loked good for Watford. His price could go up soon also.

He is a 20yo though. I will wait till the time Deeney returns to the first team to see whether he still continues in the starting XI or not.

Meh buckled and reluctantly did KDB>Erikssen, partly to catch the price rise on Erikssen tonight and partly because I've seen enough in 2 games to wonder if KDB will become another one of Pep's wacky formation experiments.

I feel like it's gonna need a huge slice of luck to catch the right City players at the right time. Erikssen is a season keeper as long as he doesn't get injured.

Agreed about KDB. Not so sure on the second part. I've got both and feel like that gives me a great captain choice every week. I'll definitely take Kane this week over Lukaku.

Spurs still have big question marks around them considering they play at Wembley.

Also, I don't know why you wouldn't get Alli in instead of Erik.

There's really nothing between them. And like I said, I wanted to catch Erikssen before his price rise last night.

I'll look at it again when I wildcard in a few weeks.
Also worth noting, Alli is suspended for first 3 Europe games so will probably be less of a rotation risk come October

This weekend is gonna dictate whether I wildcard early or not. Looking at you Harry Kane. Also it's about time Patrick Van Arsehole made himself useful.

I took a calculated 8 point hit this week to bring in Kane for Jesus - couldn't risk the latter dropping in value and I expect the former to go on a rampage in some of his upcoming fixtures.

Bit of a risk but Kane's underlying stats are exceptional and I expect him to do the business this weekend against Burnley.

Think I just rage quit mine :/

Played my wild card early and took out Alonso and Chicharito before the game week. Would have had 40 more points had I just stuck to my original team

Ouch

Playing a wildcard after one week is a recipe for disaster. How on earth can you rate a players worth after 90mins.

Very knee jerk lol Alonso was ridiculous last season. Even at £7m he's still good. Tbh reading this as confirmed to me that I should save the Wildcard until October when Sanchez, Hazard etc. are all options and we know who is getting rotated.

Wise move I feel. If Kane goes on a rampage this weekend, there will a lot of people who will struggle to fit him in.

Whats the opinion on playing Bellerin this week? Surely the Liverpool V Arsenal has goals in it so be very surprised for a clean sheet. I have Suttner for Brighton on the bench who are playing Watford away, better starter?

Contemplating dropping De Bruyne for Mane, and keeping the cash for another on-form midfielder next week. If I do it I'll be have a 1 pound /million to spare.

So far de Bruyne hasn't done much, but I know he's capable. Liverpool will score a lot and he'll be a major contributor to goals and assists. So should I do it?

Appreciate you sharing this. Lot of people have used the wildcard this week as well. For some it will work, for some it won't.

Look at the bright side though. You have a fixed team for the first half with only minor changes along the way. Unless you start taking eight point hits each week, I think it's going to work out well for you.

Oh, and use the Free Hit wisely now ;)

This is going to be my move next week I think, I can't afford to do it this week as I've already used my free transfer and used another, can't afford 8 points. Also a little early to wildcard so trying to remain patient in the meantime... it's difficult.

The 'relative difficulty' of Brighton and Arsenal is similar. Only issue is Bellerin playing on the left, but with Ox possibly leaving even that problem might be solved. He's capable of attacking points as well.

I'd go with the better player in the better team.

Captain Kane or Lukaku? What are you saying lads?

Any predictions on which City player is going to score big against Bournemouth? And would it be too risky to sub out Mkhi or Firminho for one of the City lot?

Swapped KDB & Zaha for David Silva & Mkhi. Silva seemed the most dangerous mid in the last match and Mkhi is due a goal. Captain Kane will deliver the rest ;)

Jesus or Silva and yes. City are due a big one but Pool are likely to score high against Arsenal and subbing Mkhi is unthinkable.

Jesus in place of Firmino can be done I guess, but only if your gut feeling says City. Mine never does.

It's a big risk, my other option is to take out Alli but I think that may be an even stupider move. Alternatively I can take out two players and take a 4 point hit.

Not putting in a City forward was probably not a great choice.

I'm currently on WC and I decuded to go with this team:

I have Gabbiadini on the bench because I want strong option if someone from the first team doesn't play. I also have 1.1m in the bank for further improvements.
Any comments on the team?

Edit : Lukaku is captain not Cedric

Should probably be careful with Trippier given Spurs are being linked with Aurier.
