Famous typecasted actors

James Gandolifini
Every main actor in friends
Hugh Laurie

off the top of my head.

Matthew Perry has played a few different roles quite well. He had a brief stint in The West Wing and his character in Studio 60 was also nothing at all like Friends.

Don't think Laurie is, either.

Jason Statham plays Jason Statham in every movie he is in.

Danny Dyer but also Vinnie Jones, Tammer Hasen and that other bloke who plays the hard character in Mean Machine, Football Factory and Top Boy TV series. Same roles, same acting bang on every time.

Nicolas Cage gets all kinds of different roles but is just style all the time. You could take his acting out of one film, place it in the next and probably get away with it. Can't stand him.

Some people don't know the meaning of type-casting.

Every actor has his distinct style so if he uses it in most of his movies where he isn't required to something different, he can't be type casted.

So who can be type-casted?

Some bizarre shouts in this thread. Samuel Jackson?? Christian Bale? :wenger:

One who hasnt been mentioned is that mexican women - Michelle Rodriguez or whatever. Shes not very famous but shes the definition of typecasted. "Oh hey guys, how about getting in a mexican woman who is kinda badass so we have some diversity in our movie"

#11th post, but I agree with you, it's like she can only do one role. Dislike her though, horrible actor and her characters are horrible as well but I suppose she is not to blame for that.

Gtfo!

Mark Strong.

He's been a bad guy in every movie I've seen him in bar Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He just has that 'bad guy' face.

Woody Allen, although he writes his own roles so not sure that counts.
