Haha. It's not that. It's just the thought of DJ being the first choice right winger beggars belief. Plus I think the Uruguayan guy will be rubbish anyway.
It’s a sad reality. We can thank our incompetent board for this situation.

He probably won’t even feature in the first team this year, there is no point saying he will displace anyone. James will still start the majority of games.
James doesn’t start the majority of games now so why will he start all of sudden?

we won’t see any of James in the future, most likely. He is not good enough - even Lingard plays better football, and that doesn’t imply he plays well.

He doesn't even start the majority of games now. Has the transfer window made people thicker? Interesting study for any researchers out there.

Or perhaps more arrogant ? Greenwood isn’t a natural RW mister pretentious.

He'll come on as a sub for the final ten minutes in one of the domestic cup ties, this season or next, then he will never be heard from again.

I hate to write that, but this club mismanages (and doesn't coach) players so much that this guy is doomed to fail.

We just need to have a little patience with him, especially if we have him around the first team. Same with Diallo when he joins. Let's hope we don't throw him in at the deep end, I know they're different brackets of talent but overplaying James as much as we did seemed to hurt his development, I'd rather we avoided that with Pellistri.

That is very true and one of the reasons his performances dropped following the initial burst onto the scene. Of course most commentators on here forget that and instead just howl 'He's *insert four lettered word*.

Messi levels of potential from the YouTube clip I saw.
Yup. Balance and dribbling style is the same. Will need tighter control and overall better final third decisions

Reminded me of the way George Best dribbled, funnily enough.

Maybe it's different what youth scouting means. Usually they are used for academy scouting.

Lewandowski - 22
Akanji - 23
Burki -25
Guerreiro -23
Auba -24
Reus - 23
Piszczek - 25

how is that youth scouting?
Youre right for those players didn't knew they bought them at that stage, I thought they bought them younger. Still impressive scouting by them and still the other 8 players are enough to justify good "youth" scouting IMO.

Ooh kitty got claws. RW isn't James' natural position either mister feline. That, and the fact that he hasn't been a starter for us in god knows how long.

Gundogan - 21
Kagawa - 21
Hummels - 20

So now that's down to 5 and we have included Hummels who was signed around 11-12 years ago.

Now where do you draw the line for "Youth scouting". If these 19-21 year old counts then we have fair few too. We have Rooney, Ronaldo, Nani, De Gea, Martial who were signed as youngsters. You can also add players like Shaw.

Dortmund are very good at signing highly rated young players as they have good structure to support the young players, give them game time at highest level. They are excellent at it.

sorry what?
Giving him so many games caused his quick downfall?

So strange why this is exclusive to only James...

Some people are far too negative. Wait til Pellers gets some time to integrate
Borderline idiotic writing of a player they've never seen and is highly rated in the game. Is he poor in FIFA or something?

Well, yes, I think overplaying him when he wasn't playing well shattered his confidence which has hampered his development. it was a big step up for him and we threw him in at the deep end, he played far more games than he should've and he wasn't eased in at all. So yeah, I'd rather we didn't do the same with Pellistri.

He is slippery little bastard, isn't he? From clips he looks to me much better than Traore.

This isn't a criticism of him but he is nowhere near Messi level of skill that is being alluded to here. He seems be breezing through the defenders but it needs to be seen how much is that skill and how much poor standard of defending.

There's every chance by the time this kid and Traore are ready for the PL, Ole won't even be the manager anymore. Not my preference and I hope he still is but it's funny there's about 8 national media outlets all running the Poch story today. Something has happened behidn the scenes I reckon. Rumours of players fighting at HT on Sunday and Ole looked a broken man at the weekend too.

Well the difference is that Dortmund signed them when they were either unknown players or prospects, I did the research and for all of those players they paid less than 100M. Thats amazing scouting, we bought Rooney for 37M which was a lot of money at the time, Nani and De Gea for 25M and Martial for 60M. All of them great buys, but not at the same level of Dortmund bargains, besides Cristiano of course.

But I do get your point about youth and I agree the line of "youth" should be around 20 years or less, the fact that they unearthed gems that were 22-24 years old for peanuts makes it even more impressive for me. Anyway weve deviated this thread enough I think, cheers.

He looks promising but he has barely any end product and those clips are cut to just before he loses the ball or plays a poor pass. The kind of things fans quickly tire of. This one is going to take a few years but he could still be a very good player in the making. He’s fast and he glides. Nice economic dribbling. He looks marketable too. Hopefully this opens the door for a few more South American wonderkids. Super value shopping in that market it work permits can be worked around.

Diallo currently looks the more exciting of the 2 for me. Left footed. Head up. Can do the unexpected. Like to get in behind and set up a goal. Clearly thrives on the right in the exact position we need. No shoehorning needed. I just wish he was a few years older so he could come straight in. Obviously winning mentality and tonnes of hard work will play an important part in how it all goes for the lads from now on. Hopefully its Nani and Anderson 2020!

The Poch story came form the Daily Express. It gets picked up other sites for clickbait reasons. The players fighting story came from a random twitter account.

I'll just go into this one thinking "surely he can't be worse than James". Hopefully.

Kid looks like a real throwback player; beautifully balanced and aggressive runner. Definitely a lot of room to develop physically but he looks deceptively strong on the ball from the clip packages. Obviously plenty of potential there but there are so, so many variables that go into fulfilling it and not many do.

I've watched him in a couple of Copa Libertadores videos walking past defenders. It would be a mistake to assume that's a low standard of football.

Why did he take Bruno off then? He was our best player in first half (not saying much I know). He doesnt seem to be injured as he's away with Portugal. Something definitely happened I think. If anything id be disappointed if it didn't the way they played. Fall outs aren't that rare really.

Ole both over plays young players and also never gives them a chance ?

Heads you lose tails I win Mr Solskjaer

He had a thigh strain which meant he wasn't in the squad against Brighton last Wednesday. No point risking aggravating it when the game was over by halftime.

Correct. Game was already lost. Left Pogba on in order to improve his fitness

If, and it’s a big if there was a massive fall out at half time, then perhaps he wasn’t in the best frame of mind to play the second half.

It’s not a big deal, and like you say it happens.

The other likely scenario, is that we took him off in an attempt to minimise the scoreline, which makes sense.
