Facts about football that shouldn't be true - but are

Just heard it on his Overlap podcast. Suppose Ole is true too but he was only in charge of the Last 16 and QF games unlike Moyes who led that whole campaign.

They both have * beside CL records.

Moyes didn't qualify for it, so making the quarter final wasn't that big of a deal. Walked through a shite group and limped past Olympiacos. Got battered by Bayern and shit the bed twice after taking the lead.

Ole inherited a team already there, got very lucky in Paris. Then qualified through the league but got knocked out in the group stages.

It should have been disallowed.

He'd wandered into our half at kick-off, meaning he was technically offside.

Teddy Sheringham with a goal involvement every 125 minute he played, has the worst United-G+A ratio of the 4 strikers available 1999-2000.

TS 125
AC 123
DY 112
OGS 109

Sick times. None of those 4 took more than 3 united-penalties either.

Roque Santa Cruz:
  • has a german punk rock song about him where he "sings" in the refrain:
  • Is still an active player for Libertad in the first league in Paraguay at 43 years of age
  • Played together with Lothar Matthäus for one year at Bayern

"Still an active player today" and "played with Lothar Matthäus" just sounds like it can't be true, but it is.

:D

Calling them a Punk band may be a bit of a stretch. I'd rather all it a fun - 3 chord - indie rock band :D
They have a lot of football themed songs in their repertoire and at the beginning of their career would use aliases like "The Dinozoffs" or "The Kaltz Mannis".

Bixente Lizarazu:

- was European Champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
- his brother Peyo Lizarazu is a world class pro surfer
- considered a career as a skeleton racer
- has a german fun-indie-Rock-song by band "Sportfreunde Stiller" which uses his famous quote as refrain "You have to win Zweikampf"

More Italian managers (4) have won more Premier league titles than Italian players (1).

That can't be true

I think it is only 2 Italian players, which is very surprising.

Balotelli and Cudicini appear to be the only ones that qualified for medals. That’s a pretty crazy stat!
