Fabio Quagliarella

What exactly do we need?

I think he would be perfect for us.

Is he a tremendous striker with good pace, movement, finishing and link up play?

In other words; is he a Saha with finishing ability but without the injuries?

If yes, he's exactly what we need.

I've only seen him two times for Sampdoria, but it seems clear to me he's not able to lead the line. Resembles Rossi a lot more than Louis, so what's the point?

Interesting. Another striker joins the wanted list. I simply havent seen or heard enough about him to make a judgement. But he sure is a natural scorer of great goals.

Alan Smith take note.

If your assessment is correct; no point.

We've been linked to this Itie too.

Seems to have that X-Factor that's much sought after, though not a prolific striker in the scoring sense. Scores some real crackers, watched this compilation + this 40 metre shot; breathtaking.

MANCHESTER UNITED last night stepped up their interest in Serie A hotshot Fabio Quagliarella.

I can reveal that Sir Alex Ferguson's brother Martin, United's European scout, was in Genoa to watch Sampdoria's league clash with Palermo.

All of Europe's leading clubs are watching Sampdoria ace Quagliarella, 23.

But I understand United have stolen a march on their rivals - and agents in Italy are aware they mean business.

Quagliarella, with 10 goals in 25 Serie A games, is highly rated within Italy, where AC Milan, Juventus and Inter Milan are all watching his development.

United have watched him several times in recent weeks and, as People Sport revealed last week, they are also keeping tabs on Ajax striker Jan Huntelaar and Reading's Leroy Lita.

I'm startled that Lita's name is in there on our observation list. He has had a brilliant season for Reading, but Lita does not look very comfortable or natural in his play to me. I guess we are really putting a premium on youth this summer.

Those are amazing goals by Quagliarella. It would be nice to steal a march on the big Italian clubs if he truly is an Italian star in the making.

Don't know anything about him.But i can honestly say he will not be coming to OT

It's good to see that United were enquiring about him well before he hit the headlines. Shows our scouts are doing something right. He may well have been in the bracket for us if Nani or Anderson were not bought. But he's not the frontline striker we need.

Now all we need is someone to volunteer to strip outside OT if we get him, and he's as good as ours.

You know that how?

Sampdoria chief Beppe Marotta says they'll fight tooth-and-nail to keep star man Fabio Quagliarella in Genoa next season.

"We will do all we can to keep him here in Genoa," said Marotta, who must speak with Udinese about their co-ownership of the Italy striker.

"We can't make any evaluations now, but we want to keep him here. That is also because of the excellent relationship we have with Udinese.

"We would only consider letting him leave if we were to receive an extraordinary offer, but I don't think that will happen and therefore Fabio will stay with us."

Norwich City hint at Fabio Quagliarella move
Norwich boss Chris Hughton has refused to rule out a move for Juventus striker Fabio Quagliarella.
Hughton did not deny an interest in the 30-year-old, instead comparing the scenario to his pursuit of Gary Hooper, who joined from Celtic last week.
"That is a story I have seen and heard. But it was exactly the same with our work with Gary," he said....

I want to point out that I still really rate him and though he would be a horrific disaster at United I think he could be effective for Everton or the likes.

Subtle Fellaini dig. I like it.

Leroy Lita

It shows you, People Sport were making up absolute rubbish even back then.
