He was unreliable due to his injuries but when he did play he usually impressed so I am not sure how anyone with an ounce of common sense can say he's shit
That he didn't get chances because he 'might' get injured is a silly excuse. He might not. He deserved more chances. Hopefully he will do really well for Ole.
He had about 10 good games for the club in 6 years, that too not in the position he was meant to be played in.
He's one of the most overrated players on here.
Still, best of luck to him and hopefully he can have a decent career.
I wouldn't say he impressed. He wasn't bad, but he wasn't great as well. Average often means something worse than expected, but he was just average in its true meaning. He was unreliable due to his injuries but when he did play he usually impressed so I am not sure how anyone with an ounce of common sense can say he's shit
He was written off for something other than his ability - whether that's injuries or that he's not left footed we can only speculate. Lots of injury prone players have a run where they overcome their injuries and play full seasons though, (last season for Rafael being an example) and it wasn't as though anyone is arguing he should be first choice. He certainly may have but from what I've seen of Moyes he probably looked at his record and felt it wasn't worth the bother, especially with his contract coming to an end.
I really like Fabio and felt he had loads of potential but I can recall too many matches where he went off injured, even one where he came on as a sub and went off injured a few minutes later.
God, I hate these hope he does well to prove him wrongs.I hope he shines and proves Moyes very wrong.

When fully fit He was given a chance by Fergie in the most important part of our season, including a champions league final, that can't qualify as not getting much of a chance and was sent on loan last season to spend a season getting first team football so that he could be in the squad this season. He is just unfortunate Fergie retired to be honest...This.
For all the people blaming Moyes for this, let's not forget that when Fergie was here he didn't get much of a chance either......
Playing in one, when players with more experience are not used in your place counts for something.Never has playing in a UCL final been so built up.
We've done one better and keep rewarding game after game to a Valencia in rotten form...I guess we really missed a trick by not signing Djimi Traore.
Harry didn't always fancy him either for QPRThis.

He's a lovely lad but I don't think he's good enough.

He only got that position because people were injured, and he had a good run. I love Fabio, but he wasn't getting a chance under Fergie either. Blaming Moyes is just bullshit.
He picked Buttner over Fabio time and again. Unless you want Fergie or Buttner for that your defence of Moyes is hapless. He only got that position because people were injured, and he had a good run. I love Fabio, but he wasn't getting a chance under Fergie either. Blaming Moyes is just bullshit.

Unless you want Fergie or Buttner to be blamed for Moyes picking a clearly worse player over Fabio, your attempted defence of him is hapless. He only got that position because people were injured, and he had a good run. 2nd. First was Wootton. Is he the first player Moyes has sold then?

He hasn't even had that this season tbf so it isn't the same thing. Even when Rafa was injured. I don't really think anyone was calling for him to be first choice either, just first choice back up when Rafa/Evra are rested/injured.No, the point was Fergie did the same thing. Fabio only got a run when there was an injury. Fabio hasn't been good enough. Neither is Buttner, but that's a different argument.
I'm with you ChiefHate them all you want, I wasn't joking. Fronting Buttner over a Fabio deserves to be proven beyond wrong..because of how fecking stupid it is.
He most certainly did not. Fergie did not have Fabio fit for extended period of time and total refuse to use him at all. Let's not forget Fergie is the same manager who beat up on Arsenal in the FA Cup with Fabio as a left winger. The notion that he did think anything fo the ald as Moyes does is laughableNo, the point was Fergie did the same thing..
It really isn't. Fabio is simply better than Buttner so had no business being overlooked for the Dutch man. Whether Fabio was good enough to be first choice is frankly irrelevant to that matter.Fabio only got a run when there was an injury. Fabio hasn't been good enough. Neither is Buttner, but that's a different argument.
