FA-Youth Cup: Our boys vs Chelsea

Why do commentators always think player comparisons are literal. They were mentioning Daehli and how he was said to be a little bit of Messi and a little bit of Xavi and that he had a lot to live up to. These comparisons are only made to describe in the easiest way possible for people who haven't seen him what his biggest qualities are. They probably could also have said he's a little bit of Aaron Lennon and a little bit of Michael Carrick. Those two just aren't en vouge.

Excellent goal, get in!

Get in - great strike from Barmby. Good build up play too!

*sigh*

I'm already regretting the decision to post threads from this forum on the home page...

It's a bit annoying that people who don't know anything about our youth come and post in the high profile youth matches just to moan. Commadus did the same thing in the first leg.

That was really pretty how he went from the fake shot straight into the step over. Nice bit of creativity from him. Definite sign of how better players keep getting at this sort of stuff.

That Piazon is a petulant little prick isn't he. Silly like poke earlier and kicked a little leg out.

I'm watching some Chelsea TV stream and those guys are less biased than what you hear normally from Sky or BBC or C4.

Our kids look like midgets compared to theirs! Remarkable we're actually tieing this match

Ravel is at the match. We've done very well actually. Pearson has again been good.

It's clear that Rio isn't coaching them. Too much going off their feet. But I imagine that's down to eagerness to win the game. Big game for them. Pressure and what have you.

Ioannou is such a bright defender, if he has a growth spurt he may be one to watch at centreback.. if not he may have to move to fullback as his primary position.

And their voice is not as annoying as MUTV's commentators.

There are a lot of really talented youngsters in our side. Am I correct in thinking that only Blacket and Van Velzon are in their last U18 season?

He's good, very raw, will be interesting to see how he progresses physically.

 @ the solitary United fan chanting like a madman. Class.
