FA Premier League - 19/04/25 to 23/04/25

A win at the Emptyhad next please, Villa.

Why does everyone hate Newcastle by the way? Is it the oil thing or older than that?

If they weren't owned by a trillion dollar sovereign wealth find I might be able to ignore their chippy United hating fans and wish them well. But I can't ever be happy watching state owned clubs succeed, it takes the piss.

Just seen the Villa-Newcastle score. This league is insane man, too fecking insane. The top half teams are far too strong.

The media often go on about how they’re the best fans in the world because they’re a one club city, and they’ve remained loyal despite having no success for decades etc. Complete BS IMO and very demeaning to fans of other teams.

There was a time when they were fun to watch and “everyone’s second team” back in the Keegan era. But that was 25 years ago and they’ve had some arseholes at the club since then, eg Ashley for a start.

The Saudi thing is obv a recent development.

I’d love them to miss out on Europe (EDIT: Champions League)

I see I see

Unsurprisingly cruising against Ipswich, 2-0 and 50th goal for Martinelli. Cnut #3, whatever his name is, gets a red for studs on Saka's achilles...

Slightly harsh red in my opinion. Seen it again and can see why it's given, he's nowhere near the ball.

Is that really a straight red challenge?
Nah Saka is milking it, late studs to the Achilles nowhere near the ball should be a strong word and some finger wagging from the ref.

They were looking decent around Christmas. Looked solid for a CL spot anyway. Back to 8th they go...
Still got Forest and Newcastle away. Liverpool too although at home.

Throw in the Conference games and yeah looking like an 8th placed finished. Not even sure they’d win that competition if they face Betis in final.

The Chelsea supporters have been singing about Frank Lampard for the last ten minutes.

Feck yeah. Beautiful Neto winner. Awesome Tyrique George moment, first PL goal of his career.

Also now just 2 points separates 5 teams, from Newcastle in 3rd to Villa in 7th

Chelsea are such an annoying, tedious team this season. Every time I watch them since aroudn October they have looked nearly as bad as Spurs and us, but they are somehow clinging on to Champions League places just because they made a decent start. So much money spent and quite a talented squad, but a manager who plays the most 'football by numbers' style I have seen for a long time.

Could do worse than give him a run. Feel nicely into his path but a very instinctive shot.

Palmer looks completely shot fitness wise so the logic thing would be to leave him out of the World Club Cup otherwise he'll get a bad injury next season I reckon.

Chelsea clinging on but Liverpool and Newcastle either side of the Europa SFs is a very tough schedule.

Hopefully Liverpool wrap up the title against Spurs the week before and are on their flip flops by the time we play them.

Not seen anything from Bradley that makes me think he’s good enough to start every week when TAA goes.

We played them right at the end of last season at home and they were 1-3 up to last few minutes so unless it's a can't give a feck performance (hard to see with the general Chelsea-Liverpool rivalry in last 20 years) it's hard to see them not scoring a couple against your backline.

Gusto pulled up near the end and comms seemed convinced that Caciedo is out for next two with tenth booking although the deadline might have passed for that?

Still a hard run in and Liverpool and Newcastle will both be after the European games.

One thing I couldn't understand today is Fulham were out on their feet for most of that second half and Silva wasn't bothered about subs until last ten minutes, should've put Traore on with 20 minutes left.

Any time I've seen Liverpool this season they've looked average at best. I can see them dropping like a stone next season.

The stupid thing is, if Arsenal had actually tried a bit harder and picked up an extra 4 to 6 points over the last few weeks they'd have a reasonable chance at winning the title but they just completely gave up!

Nah, Liverpool have been scraping results all season long.
