FA Premier League - 05/04/25 to 07/04/25

Newcastle can get a few here tonight
Leicester are so poor, Ruud's time there as been a disaster

Leicester's defense is absolutely woeful. Wout Faes is one of the worst defenders I've ever seen in the premier league.
Think he's the worst. Say it every week but how he still gets minutes in the PL baffles me. Should be a sackable offence by every manager that's done it.

Think Leicester could go very close to another relegation next season like Luton.

Huge stench of decay around the club. For them to get good again they need new ownership.

Okoli played regularly under Cooper but RVN quickly decided he wanted to go with Faes and Vestegaard (who was terrible five years back at Southampton).

Other CB option is Conor Coady who was dropped from your near relegation team two years ago.

Leicester side is a complete mess and Van Nistelrooy must be one of the worst mid season hires by any top level club in recent times.

I've got a sneaking suspicion that Ruud isn't a good manager.

Juric levels of bad. 1 win in 16 (since that 2-2 draw with Brighton)

Coady is far better than that joker (yes, even with the he can't play in a four myth).

Juric had no chance at Southampton with their squad so don't really count him.

Probably the most damming thing is Wolves were only on about 9 points when RVN took over Leicester and now they're 15 points clear of them.

Comically bad from Leicester today.

Terrible, terrible stint for Ruud. That’s him done in England

Incredible that just two years back all of Tielemans-Maddison-Barnes were in Leicester midfield (Ndidi was also much better than than he is now).

I still maintain that was the best group of players ever to get relegated from the premier league.

Aslong as Newcastle win. City will be playing catch up.

Any particular reason for why they would stick with RvN? Blind faith?

West Ham in 2003? Some proper names in that squad

City are 6th now 1 point behind Newcastle having played a game more, they arnt getting Champions League are they?

Just looked, they have a relatively easy run-in (compared to Newcastle/Chelsea). City - Villa in 2 weeks is their hardest game. And will be a massive one, especially if they don't manage to win at Goodison.

That's the team that usually gets referenced but plenty of them were still fairly young and inexperienced at prem level....Defoe, Carrick and even Joe Cole.

I just noticed they had Raimond Van Der Gouw in their squad that season, I honestly cant remember him going there

Defoe and Cole were still very good players, they got moves to top PL clubs at the end of the season. Cole was even their captain. They also had Kanouté, Les Ferdinand and Di Canio up front. David James in goal, Lee Bowyer, Trevor Sinclair, all England internationals, Carrick played all but 4 games in the middle, Glen Johnson and Anton Ferdinand at the back…

Looking it up, they lost just once in their last 11 games that season and went down with 42 points!

Elanga is superior to both Sancho and Antony, he has all the attributes to succeed as a solid EPL winger or WB.
No; you can't be a winger or WB. Wing back, is a very very specialised position. That's the reason Amorim's tactics aren't working. You can't just make an attacking full back a wing back, or a capable winger a wing back. Oh no! It's very specialised. They are the key to making a team world class, it can't be done without them, and only a very few, very special players can play that position.
