FA Cup Final: United v City

Sit deep. Man mark De Bruyne. Yeti without the space is not a problem. Hit them on the break.

Fred to nullify De Bruyne
AWB to nullify Grealish
Shaw to nullify Haaland
Weghorst to have the game of his life

Too much to ask?

We will be beat them I'm 100% for sure.Ten Hag will play with 4 midfielders. Eriksen, Case, Fred, Bruno.

Same team as at OT. Use the same set-up City used yesterday against Arsenal. Sit in between the middle circle, don't overpress, don't sit deep. Ball over the top to Rashy + Martial. Man to man pressing in the middle. Be physical to their wingers. ABW+Malacia are capable of that.

Going to be a hell of a game and a hell of a day out for those heading down to Wembley.

Far from confident but it's a cup final at the end of the day so let's not write us off too soon.

Sorry to say but they’re Absolute wankers these rail staff. They deliberately do these strikes on days they know will effect the average joe. When they know the average joe has feck all say in how much they get paid.

Of course they do. That’s kind of how strikes work and have effect.

Having to stop Haaland/KDB without the pairing of Varane and Martinez is a huge task, particularly when it seems like Foden et al have the games of their season against us.

Will be a huge achievement to win this. Believe!

The way they’re playing at the moment is genuinely at the level of that 2011 Barca side I.e. we would do well to avoid a battering in this game. Hopefully they drop off a little by early June because right now it’s scary.

It’s a double edged sword really, as at least if City get past Madrid they’ll have a CL final to worry about 3 days after our game. The downside of course is that they’ll be finally lifting the champions league.

tbh even with City in this form, I'm more confident of beating them than I was of beating Brighton in the semifinal.

How can you watch us not being able to string afew passes together and then watch city and still have this confidence? I mean I wish I shared your view I just think we’d beat them one in 5 all things considered with our best 11. Their bench is pretty insane as well.

The Champions League final is a week after the FA Cup final.

3 days later?

Man works out how strikes work

must add its a weird confidence. Though there's still like 6 weeks to go till the final for us to get some more confidence. In addition, I think ETH knows we can't beat them by passing it around them, but more by defending well and energy in press and transitions.

We've got to repeat Ole's greatest hits for this to work.

Running a strike on FA Cup final day will impact far fewer people (and considerably fewer "average Joes") than running a strike during the working week would. Here they have an opportunity to do something highly visible but which will mostly impact a relatively small number of people travelling for leisure. That's far better for everyone than them striking on the Monday and impacting a much larger group of people travelling for work whilst the media ignores it entirely.

some years ago, dublin bus and rail workers organised a collective protest action whereby they simply refused to handle money for the day, meaning that all the passengers rode for free. it was perfect - the public were all behind them and the unions were pretty much given most of their demands the next day.
I simply don't understand why more protests aren't done this way; pissing off the public like this only undermines your cause.

Because it's illegal to do that in this country. It wouldn't be classed as legitimate industrial action and anyone who did it could get sacked for misconduct.

I don’t expect us to beat City.

I don’t blame others for having a romanticised view of a potential upset. It’s a Cup final after all. But at the end of the day reality beckons.

The game to me is akin to a technically superior Brazil team of the 90s facing a high potential but ultimately less talented England side. Nine out of ten times, there’s only 1 winner.

We beat them three months ago.

It’s a different City we’re facing now at the their peak on the cusp of a treble winning season.

They might have a suspension, three out injured and lost two in a row by the time we play them. Who knows.

They're wankers, but not because of that, but because their pay as actually fecking very good

Another name to remember should we win.

Mate are they a better team? He’ll yes but it’s over a month away, rain on another parade. We won’t play how Arsenal did & have over a month to get our act back together, if we win great, just forget about the rest & enjoy.

Yes, that is the purpose of strikes. Disrupt the lives of regular people and hope they moan about it to the authorities, who in turn will take action.

Genuinely feel for those that think we have a chance against these lot

Unfortunately we'll get annihilated!

Yeah, I'm sorry, I don't feel opportunistic as well. Especially after that dire performance vs Spurs. Hopefully the lads will prove us wrong, but you just can't feel confident going into this game after our recent performances and seeing City destroying Bayern and Arsenal.

Some people are such miseries. Tottenham are a good side; we were never going to turn them over. They had their crap performance on Sunday; it doesn't mean anything for this game.

The FA Cup final is a completely different game. A one-off final that can go either way.

"Tottenham are a good side, we were never going to turn them over."

They literally got turned over a few days ago. They got turned over the other week at home against Bournemouth, a side battling relegation. They lost 4-1 away against Leicester, a side likely to go down this season. We were 2-0 up against these chumps and all over them in the first half, and absolutely should be closing that game out. Not just closing it, but winning it convincingly. Crap finishing, bad in-game management, and poor performances let us down.

This is one game, for sure. But this is not the first time we have done this, this season. Our recent performances and results are middling/disappointing.

Cup finals are something else, but if we perform like we did tonight in the second half, we will get battered.

Yes, they played like crap in some games, but it doesn't mean it is going to happen forever. They also beat City this year, beat Brighton three games ago (a team people have been raving about - they were also supposed to destroy us on the weekend), beat Chelsea (okay, maybe not much praise here).

They are just a weird side. They go from beating City, with a great performance, to losing 4-1 against Leicester in the next game. That is just what they are like, so you have to expect them to play hell of a lot better after their crap performances.

I don't think it has much bearing as we won't play like that against City. We will play more like we did earlier in the year. Not saying we will win, but I give us a better chance than a lot on here.
