It’s a manual backup for team radio if it fails but also just to keep drivers aware of gaps rather than constantly telling that info over the radio

Bottas wanted softs, they put him on hards.
Merc have sold Bottas down the river, he wanted soft to make a race of it, hards were put on and he has nothing.
Why did they put hard on Bottas instead of soft?
They mentioned that it would've been against the rules to give Bottas the softs? Why is that?
Hamilton always comes across as slightly neurotic on the comms
