Hamilton (256 races starts), Schumacher got his last podium (on race 293) in his final season in Valencia (finished on 306 race starts)

Never been a Vettel fan but it's just sad to see where he is now.

Im the same ive never liked him but I feel bad for him nothing seems to go his way anymore.
Sometimes it's his fault but it feels like Ferrari have just give up on him completely.
I don't dislike Hamilton but he s such a whiner. Even when he approached Max to congratulate him he decided to make it about himself and the tyres.Poor Lewis. He has it so tough zzz
Great race by Max but Albon deserves a lot of credit as well for just never giving up. Seems like he has a lot of mental strength to finish where he did.
He wasn’t doing great anyway even with a competitive car. Only one good year where he was fighting for the title. This way Ferrari get to save maybe 10-20m in salary alone and maybe use that money towards bettering the car for next year.Seems pretty clear that he is thoroughly pissed off to have been given the push.
Of course the car is not really competitive.
But it is not as bad as 12th.
He isn't doing himself any favours by driving as awfully.
Do you not think that he has given up on them??
Come on he's not a whiner. Everyone of those F1 drivers are never satisfied, but I never hear them accused of whining.I don't dislike Hamilton but he s such a whiner. Even when he approached Max to congratulate him he decided to make it about himself and the tyres.
How's it looking for him at Red Bull right now? They aren't very patient with their drivers and Albon, despite doing relatively well, is always quite far behind Max (who is an unfair standard to be compared against, of course).Great race by Max but Albon deserves a lot of credit as well for just never giving up. Barcelona next weekend and weather is hot and sunny, Mercedes need to sort tyre problem or its a repeat of this week.

Cheers was not sure how many races Sch got his podiums in.Hamilton (256 races starts), Schumacher got his last podium (on race 293) in his final season in Valencia (finished on 306 race starts)
Are they going to ask Stroll if his daddy forced Hulk to box just so he didn't finish ahead of him?
I hope they don’t. The race is much more fun this way. I was hoping their tires would blow up towards the end of the race to make the championship more interesting.Barcelona next weekend and weather is hot and sunny, Mercedes need to sort tyre problem or its a repeat of this week.
Thanks for laying it out like that. I was wondering how much Schumacher’s 2nd stint in F1 would ruin his “efficiency.”
I could understand last week, but it's quite strange that. Will be interesting to see how they deal with it.Apparently not very good in high temps.
What I loved the most was Max earnt that victory for himself.
If the team had their way they'd play it safe and hope for a safety car. He took the "bull by the horns" and went at them, made them pit earlier than they wanted and changed the strategy completely.
It was remarkable how Max's tyres after 20+ laps were better than both the Mercedes after 8 laps.
In an interview Christian Horner attributed the Merc issues due to the higher amounts of downforce they had on he car today compared to Red Bull.
I think I saw they had a skinnier rear wing in the pits on Thursday, I don't think they used it though? Seemed obvious to me last week that softer tyres and hot weather would cause issues for Mercedes.
Yeah they didn't use it, which with softer tyres this week it explains why they were suffering with blistering and overheating tyres constantly.
Hamilton referenced the tyre pressures too, I think they expected some difficulty but decided sticking with the setup from last week was the best idea. I imagine a safety car would have helped and was probably in those calculations.
Why do they strategize so much with safety cars in mind? They also kept mentioning it on the BBC live commentary. Is it such a given that one will come in at some point, and that it's likely to be a point where it's useful to the team? I didn't think safety cars were quite that common.Hamilton referenced the tyre pressures too, I think they expected some difficulty but decided sticking with the setup from last week was the best idea. Right, yes, makes sense, then. (I did assume anything the teams due is data-driven. )It's not a given but some circuits have them more often than others. Silverstone I think they said had safety cars in each of the previous 8 races there. On that evidence you would feel like you should factor it into strategy.
How did Hamilton manage to get away from speeding in the pit lane though, must have been extremely close?
