Did Stroll not get a penalty when he basically made Ricardo go miles off track? Ridiculous.
Renault have lodged a protest against both Racing Point cars. Interesting to see if this mirrors Japan last season.
This translates to Renault suggesting Racing Point are using a design which features elements that have not been designed themselves, as per the regulations

IIRC Racing Point got Renault DQ'd?

Nah Leclerc is fast than Norris I reckon.Max and Lando are the two most talented young drivers on track, LeClerc is some way behind them.
Obviously it's about finding the right team at the right time as to who will win a title first.
Some way behind them? He is a driving a car that is pretty shit and yet managed to come fourth in his first season with a big team and came 2nd in the first race. He isnt way behind them talent wise.Max and Lando are the two most talented young drivers on track, LeClerc is some way behind them.

If there is any guilt somewhere-hopefully FIA won't hush hush it like they did with the Ferrari thing. ..They look very similar dont they...

though as the article says it will probably be if the internal chambers are identical that will determine certain guilt as there is realistically no other way they can have copied that
Except it was less "Bottas finding the ability to not make the Mercedes shunt Max off the track" and more Verstappen stayed extremely wide throughout the corner and stayed on the outside kerbs so there was no risk to him.Great Battle for the midfield yesterday. Hamilton is a cut above the rest.
I find it pretty interesting that max was able to pull off the same move around Bottas on the outside that Albon tried with Hamilton with Bottas finding the ability to not make the Mercedes shunt Max off the track. Almost like last weeks collision with Albon was more than a racing incident
wowVerstappen>Leclerc>>Norris>Russell
Norris has improved this year. Waiting for Russell to have a teammate with two working hands.
I wonder if lewis does not sign if vettel would wait for a year to get a drive there?
I'd rank him around the same as someone like Perez so above average. With Williams he comfortably beat Massa each year and managed a few podiums where he could. And at Mercedes, while he's clearly second best to Hamilton, he doesn't usually end up so far back he can't assist with strategy like Albon in that last race or Gasly last year.Yeah, Bottas doesn't complain and does a reliably good enough job. It's also great for Bottas. Where would he go and get more success? As long as Mercedes is obviously way ahead of everyone else, and Hamilton is clearly the better driver, Bottas's current position is as good as it will get for him.
I wonder how good Bottas really is though. He is consistently a top 3 driver now, but where does he rank in terms of skill/talent? That goes back to the earlier discussion about team vs. individual quality.
true, but my point was more that it's not a foregone conclusion it's Hamilton that has won, which is what they were assuming. Bottas might have something to say about it still even though Lewis does look dominant...which as a brit is great to see and McLaren back in the hunt i'm starting to enjoy FI again bit like United finally!!!!!I don't know, Pscholes18 , does have a point, with the short season and Mercedes closest challengers being McLaren, it is hard to see past Mercedes for both.
Its still kinda nuts to think Verstappen was running 35+ or so sec ahead of Albon and would have finished with that huge of a gap too if he hadn't pitted for that minor front wing damage at the end...and even then still finished way ahead.I'd rank him around the same as someone like Perez so above average. Lewis ain't walking away for a few years yet, I think he will motivate himself massively to win again with new regulations in 2022.
Who got fastest lap in the end? They figured Verstappen pitted so he could have a go at that, but I haven't seen who got it...?Its still kinda nuts to think Verstappen was running 35+ or so sec ahead of Albon and would have finished with that huge of a gap too if he hadn't pitted for that minor front wing damage at the end...and even then still finished way ahead.
Definitely would have been nice for RB if they could have pressured Bottas.
Will they have merc engines (and brake ducts) next season as well (racing point are rebranding as Aston right)Really early rumours, but Vettel to Aston Martin for 2021 gaining pace.

Replace Stroll? Or they buy out Perez's contract?
Would make sense to have a Mexican driver with Haas given their market and what I assume is the deeper pockets of Perez' sponsors.Rumour has it that there is a clause in Perez's contract which will help an easier exit. I could see him going to Haas next season and replacing Grosjean.
For sure he would get a ride somewhere... haas makes more sense than most of the other optionsWould make sense to have a Mexican driver with Haas given their market and what I assume is the deeper pockets of Perez' sponsors.
