F1 2017 Season

Had nothing to do with the wet track. Same result would have happened in the dry. Vettel shouldn't have squeezed Max as much.

Vettel was perfectly within his rights as the lead car to move across. He had no way of knowing Kimi was steaming up the lefthand side. It was an accident, shit happens.

Was going to watch the race tonight but a fecking Instagram post spoiled it.. Its not possible to give a bigger FU to every Ferrari fan out there than that start.. feck off.

Lewis fastest lap. Doesn't seem that the Red Bull has that much advantage on the slicks in these conditions.

Yeah, he's within his rights, definitely. But he took a little too much of a risk. He must have known that he didn't get the best start and that others would be quicker off the line.

That's not really his concern though is it? Drivers block lines all the time when in front, it's part of racing.

It most definitely is his concern. Just because you're in front doesn't mean you can forget about what may develop behind you (especially at the start).

You either get away clean from the front and it's easy, or you're in a battle. Once you're in a battle situation, it's a process of getting through it as cleanly as possible. Not the biggest mistake ever, I agree, but a 4 time champion should have made a better decision IMO. He certainly made a poorer decision than either Max or Kimi.

Nah, rerunning these things afterwards is easy, this is the perfect example of a racing incident where you can't really blame anyone because nobody did anything really 'wrong' it was just a coming together at speed in difficult conditions.

Max was concetrating on getting past Vettel so he was late seeing Kimi coming up on the left. It looked like he moved over to try to keep Kimi at bay rather than avoid Vettel as Vettel was still a distance from him when he started to turn left.
If one driver had to be blamed it would be Max but really it was a racing incident

I don't agree, it is Kimi who has to be blamed. See closely there is a lot of track on the left of Kimi but he was stupid enough to cause this major accident. Lucky there were not more causalities, could have been worse.

Yep, that's how I see it.

Agreed.

Saw what happened at the start on BBC and came for the meltdown. Good times.

Don't see it as Max's fault at all. Nothing he could do, there was a car either side.

Good lad Max. Stick the boot in and fire back!

Another chance for Danny Ric, wonder how much of a risk he'll take into turn 7. Hopefully Lewis can nail the restart again.
