F1 2017 Season

Now give a fecking penalty to Hamilton and strip him off pole. Ferrari 1-2 on the grid for the race !

Hamilton was on a timed lap anyway, doubt he gets a penalty. More interesting race if he does though

if they were both on timed laps how can he be slowing another car down?

Well he was on a warm down lap basically but it was timed so really I doubt it's a penalty. You see it every race weekend, people notice more when it's a front runner doing it.

OK I see your point now , working and watching , means I missed some of it.
I can see at least one on here not being happy if Lewis is not stripped of his pole

Veteran technical chief Pat Symonds isn't having suggestions of a Hamilton block either from Romain Grosjean:

"If he thinks that's blocking he's got a surprise coming on the A43 back to his hotel tonight!"

"I really don't think he's going to pick up a penalty for it," says Paul Di Resta when analaysing at the SkyPad the apparent 'block' Hamilton administered on Grosjean at the end of the first runs.

It certainly doesn't appear especially blatant as they approached and rounded the final corner of the lap.

Ted Kravitz suspects it'll be a while yet before the stewards deliver a verdict on Hamilton-Grosjean.

The stewards haven't even spoken to the drivers yet.

"They probably won't go up for another 10, 15 minutes and then there'll be deliberation and they'll look at all the traces," says Ted.

"We're probably not going to get an answer for another couple of hours yet, but I've seldom seen Toto Wolff so concerned that he's going to lose a pole. He went straight to the pit wall, while James Allison, James Vowles and Ron Meadows were all looking at the traces and exactly how close Hamilton got.

"A few bits of crucial information: it was at the end of Romain Grosjean's hot lap and Lewis was winding up for his hot lap. Haas think Grosjean lost three tenths of a second, but he did improve his time on his second run in Q3. He didn't improve his position, but he did improve his time."

My reading of this is that Wolff is expecting a grid drop, my view is that he was getting ready to start his flying lap and did not know Roman was hot on his tail, if he did hold him up, it was by accident , but if the FIA think he did then he will get then pen, he will have to take it.
If he does who is to blame ? Lewis for not looking in his mirrors or the team for not telling him on the radio Roman was coming behind him

Yawn. You can't punish an english man on this track. We will be even better to try to beat him tomorrow.

Video of Hamilton Grosjean incident. From the video, looks to have been pretty lucky to have gotten away with it.

to me it looks like he was doing something to get ready for his flying lap, looked in the mirror saw Roman coming fast and thought OH Shit I better get out of the way.
Agreed he was lucky to get away with it.

Why the feck do they keep cutting to Webber's ugly mug when they are showing Hamilton's qualifying lap?

Who cares what Webber looks like, we want to see how Hamilton tackles the lap with expert commentary, we're only going to get 1 go at seeing it, ffs!

The director is a complete fecking idiot :wenger:

Hope Martin Brundle is ok. I don't have Sky and the quality of broadcasting has gone massively down not having him on my TV anymore. Him, along with DC, Eddie and Humphrey was the best combination I can remember in about 20 years
