F1 2016 Season with Fantasy League see Threadmark

Like the McLaren and RB although the RB won't race in a matte finish surely?

The Ferrari looks a bit disjointed to me, with the white on red.

Looking forward to the first day of Barcelona testing tomorrow.
 
I'm actually looking forward to this season. Bet I'll regret saying this by mid April :lol:
 
Fantasy League
After the flurry of new cars, thought I would just remind you about the Fantasy League.
Decided to use the same has last season, they have added a few more things you can get points from.

Password is redcafe

It is the same league has last year , I just changed the name, the teams that did last year are still there, you just have to pick your driver etc.

Could do with a few more than last year, the more in the better it is.

McLaren need to move on from the black car, it's bare and makes them look a bit small fry. It doesn't really make sense why their liveries have dropped off so hard, they have had three iconic liveries (Marlboro, West & Vodafone) and now they have a paint>fill>bucket livery, did they fire their livery design team too when it all went to shit?

Think the lack of title sponsor isn't helping, always feels interim.

I'm hoping the car works this year but not exactly on tenterhooks for it. Forgot it was even launching today, first time in years that I haven't been anticipating it for days prior. Looks alright, probably a lemon.

@pauldyson1uk - might be worth a temporary thread title change highlighting the fantasy league? Would make it obvious to people not normally interested in the day to day chat of this thread to get involved.

The Ferrari should have a little less White.
 
Good day for Mclaren. They did 80+ laps. Must have smashed their preseason record of last year already.
 
looking forward to this season more than any for a while, it looks like there is more that just the Mercs, that are in with a change of winning races.
Ferrari and McLaren look like decent cars, I also have a feeling that HAAS will do more that what most are expecting, I dont expect podiums but I can see them getting points.

Up to that by lunch today as well.

Looks like Arai's been removed from Honda, and the engine for Melbourne is one done by a bunch of Honda "rebels" that turned out better than the official one :lol:

what do you think about this.

Qualifying will remain as a one-hour session, split into three segments, but drivers must be on track throughout each part until they get knocked out.

Details on how the new qualifying format will work exactly have yet to be decided, but the general outline has been agreed.

Q1 will now last 16 minutes and after seven minutes the slowest driver will take no further part in the session.

Every 90 seconds thereafter, the slowest will be knocked out until there are only 15 drivers remaining.

After a short break, Q2 will commence and last 15 minutes with the slowest driver eliminated after six minutes.

As was the case in Q1, the slowest driver at the time will be knocked out at 90-second intervals until eight remain.

Q3 will last 14 minutes and see the process repeated again with the slowest taking no further part after five minutes.

The next five drivers will drop out at 90-second intervals leaving the final two drivers to fight it out for pole in the final 90 seconds.

The change will require ratification by the World Motor Sport Council, which next meets on March 4.
 
That sounds fantastic. Can see lots of trip ups and people getting caught in traffic etc. Potential for plenty of drama.
 
Honda boss Yasuhisa Arai will step down imminently from his role overseeing the group's return to F1 with McLaren.

Arai was due to retire at the end of the season but his exit has now been brought forward to March 1 in what will inevitably be perceived as a response to Honda's disastrous performance since returning to F1 last January.

In what Honda have formally described as "annual organisational and personnel changes", Yusuke Hasegawa will replace Arai as the head of the company's F1 project, with Yoshiyuki Matsumoto appointed to a new director role overseeing the operation.

Wonder how teams would deal with fuel loads in that scenario - underfuel it, post a quick time and then coast until another's needed?
