F1 2016 Season with Fantasy League see Threadmark

5 wins in a row for Rosberg if you count last season.

While Hamilton has been unlucky in the first two races he must be worrying a little bit more about his teammate than he has in the past.

Hope Rosberg can carry it on for a bit.

McLaren's top point scorer is the reserve driver.

I think I've finally run out of love for F1, I find myself 'watching' a race (which actually means being distracted on my phone for most of it).

Only a matter of time before normality is restored and Vettel starts finishing on the podium. Kudos to Rosberg but whilst Hamilton retains his raw speed advantage, there are just too many races in this F1 calendar to make him anything other than favourite for his 3rd title in a row. The future is clearly Verstappen though, with the likes of Vandoorne and Ricciardo challenging the old guard in Vettel and Hamilton and possibly Alonso. The sooner Mclaren become competitive the better, as I can see a 4-6 way fight for the championship if we're (very) lucky...

The drivers are there on the grid, just needs a reshuffle and Mclaren to catch up. Wait and see, it will happen!

BTW What's the deal with Jenson's contract? Now I hear Ron has a vested interest in Stoffel, I'd be surprised if he isn't one of their two main drivers next season, which basically means he'll be partnering Alonso....

Great to see Haas continuing to impress. I think their approach has to be the way to go for new entrants from here on (unless the FIA do something about it)
Also thrilled to see Kimi back on the podium after what seems like forever. Also was very impressed with Vandoorne, not bad for a debut. Need more consistency from the other teams though. So far only Merc and Haas are providing it.

Grosjean doing the business. He's a happy man in the paddock and after a rough time at Lotus, with all the reckless driver accusations, I'm glad to see him revitalised. I heard there were a few jealous teams in the paddock, as a new upstart on the grid isn't supposed to be doing this well. It's brilliant!

What's Haas's secret for getting such a good start?
Ferarri engine? Did they get good designers on board?

This season started before I got a chance to catch up on the stories over the Winter

Not just their engine , I think they have had a lot of their parts of them.
Unrestricted by testing regulations until the time the team entered an official season, Haas shook its new car down in December 2015 ahead of official pre-season testing at Barcelona in early 2016.[15] Haas approached Italian manufacturer Dallara to build their chassis, with a power unit supplied by Ferrari.[3][16] Former Jaguar and Red Bull Racing technical director Günther Steiner is the team principal.[3] Haas confirmed its new car had passed the mandatory FIA crash tests on 8 January 2016.

they actually had very time in car prior to the season. think they only had a single car so the drivers didn't get much track time.

This was from something I read.

Gene Haas believes his new Formula 1 team has had too much time on his hands ahead of its debut this season.

In April 2014 the FIA confirmed Haas had been granted an entry for the '15 season, only for the American to take up an option to defer for a year.

By the time the car finally hits the track in pre-season testing at Barcelona next month, it will have been 22 months in the making.

Unlike previous start-up teams, Haas wanted to make sure his organisation hits the ground running, rather than limping along at the back of the grid.

Hamilton, who has claimed both poles under the elimination system, said: "They come up with all sorts of ideas. When you come up with ideas most of them will not be good and one of them might be good at some stage, so whether or not that's the one we shall see."
Lewis spent too much time around Ron as a kid.

there was a special program on them. had some real issues with the car. barely getting one out. gutierrez had even less time as #2.

but all in all grosjean has been great and has finished the first two races in the points. you'd could see his buzz from the car's performance post race yesterday.
haas is doing better than anyone thought but will they be able to sustain it?

They are doing better than most expected ,I had a feeling they would do OK, I can see Grosjean nicking a couple of podiums.

Think the rule would be that you do two timed laps, no more no less. Not sure what happens if you get a problem with the car and can't do another, presumably a standard "slow" time is added to your first lap. If it's like that it might be alright.

It's a simple fix, keep Q1 & Q2 the same as 2015 rules. Then in Q3, as soon as they leave the garage, they can only return for a change of tires - it'll increase the amount of cars out on the track which is what i believe the FIA are trying to get to a position on.

i think i remember you posting that , and i thought he's fecking mental. sorry but i did. if it wasn't you sorry to whomever it was. i think that you're right about a podium for grosjean. i also agree with his post race comments in saying that not everything is going to go as well as yesterday. he wanted to have that extra tire option as well. 3 SSofts to start off , great race management.
