Gave her a house and 2 mil and yet she's mad .
2 mil that he's now saying was a loan. This is after he cheated on her. They've been together since high school and then he decides "feck it, want a younger model". She's got plenty of valid reasons to be pissed off.

Looks like he's in trouble, been found guilty of family abandonment in court and not paying his missus money after leaving her.

He's been given prison time but I can't make out if it's a suspended sentence or not.
It'll either be a suspended sentence or he'll pay bail. These sportsmen very rarely end up in prison. Even Dani Alves is out despite how bad his crime was.

They are not even divorced yet. So Evra will probably find it difficult to convince the court that the wife must repay a loan to him. And it also sounds a little strange that he thinks he's giving her a house as long as the divorce isn't final.

He might be a prat, but this story doesn't really make sense to me with what's been reported. The wife and kids have a home and finances? If so then this all seems dumb, if not then he should be made to pay like normal.

Prison seems weird sentence for this, but whatever France is strange.

Admired him as a player but not so much his antics after retirement. His efforts with ‘funny videos’ were so cringe I almost felt embarrassed watching them. I genuinely think he is a sad person and all this bullshit with positivity talk seems incredibly fake. I really feel for him

I find it odd when people are quick to judge footballers for their infidelity. Pretty much everyone in my friendship groups have either cheated on their spouse or been cheated on.

Not defending Evra here - I couldn't care less where he puts his dick. Judging his moral compass (and whether it tarnishes his United legacy) off the back of this story just seems OTT.

Don't think it's the cheating people have an issue with here
Is it not paying the alimony that's the issue? That's not great behaviour but it doesn't impact my view of him as a United legend. If I spent energy getting worked up about people's behaviour during divorce proceedings then I wouldn't have much energy left.

One thing that might clear up the disconnect is that even if it's impossible for you to talk about things without getting worked up, it's quite simple for other people. Alternatively, there might be something seriously wrong with your energy levels, in which case you should probably seek medical help.

What has happened here is that Evra has been convicted in a criminal court for financially abandoning his family, and that some people have remarked that this reflects badly on him. That's it.

I appreciate your expert medical advice. I will contact my GP right away.

Sure - for some people, Evra's behaviour here will reflect badly on him, but I'd be lying if I said that it impacted my view on him overall. For more seriously shitty behaviour in relationships (Giggs and Greenwood), my view on them has forever changed. I appreciate that different people have varying tolerance levels for what they perceive to be unforgivable behaviour, however their opinions on the subject wouldn't ever lead me to advise they seek medical help. Each to their own though. Have a good day, Dr NotThatSoph.

People don't know what went down between him and his wife, but that's not going to stop people from jumping to conclusions is it.

You're blinded by your view that he's a United legend. I don't think many folk are even mentioning his status as a player when pointing out that cheating on his wife is a dickhead thing to do.

You've got your stance on the matter, others including me have a different stance. That's basically it.

Jumping to the conclusion that abandoning his family and not paying 800k alimony isn't a good look?

Yes we should wait for the verdict before making a judgement... Oh wait

On your second paragraph - fair enough. No harm done.

Just on your first paragraph - I should clarify that I wasn't blinded by my view of Giggs as a United legend after everything that came out, so I wouldn't say that's a blanket view that I adopt for all United legends. As I said, I'm not defending Evra here - I'm just not as strongly opinionated on the subject matter as others.

You need better friends

exactly it’s child support.
people seems to be more saints when it’s other people personal Lives

He’s just traded his wife for a younger model. He gave her lots to live on she’s not working 2-3 jobs to support herself and the kids

What your friends do is none of your business

So if your friends beat up old people for fun, it's none of your business and you'll just remain friends with them?

Not that these two things are equally bad, it's just that the notion that what your friends do is none of your business is weird.

Sounds like you’re mates with a bunch of dickheads so.

If you hangout with dickheads you are probably dickhead too.

I find it weirder that you'd run background checks on your friends. How would you even know the circumstances?

I think he's brilliant personally, him having a go at Liam Gallagher was a highlight for me

I LOVE THIS GAME

Not sure if you quit reading half way through the sentence but several of them have been cheated on, so how does that make them a dickhead?
Which are you?
I am flattered that you give that much of a shit about my life but tbh I think I'll plead the fifth on that question.

Haha nah, based on advice from strangers on the caf, I'm going to now stop talking to my close friend after they admitted to once cheating on their toxic ex.
