"Early days, give him a chance, too soon to tell, yet to settle blah blah blah."

Bollox to that.

He's shite.

Can't wait to see Heinze again.

On the plus side, he's not Ashley Cole. Celebrate!

Mark my words.

Evra will not excel in his role as an attacking left-sided player, on the football field, as he is, in fact, a postman.

Mark my words.

I fecking care. United spent good money on him, money that should have been used on a top notch midfielder.

He wasn't really needed, and on top of that he's shite too.

Crap.

I know we won and I'm delighted, but that purchase is doing my head in.

Thought the same myself. Otherwise, Silvestre is getting the boot.

Send Fergie a letter stating your dissatisfaction.

You getting him mixed up with 26

It still amazes me that we signed Evra. Not because he is a crap player or anything but because next year once we have Heinze back, he will hardly get any games at left back which means he would have to be used as a left side midfielder. But we've seen when he gets forward that he is not even that good.

He was awful for the most part tonight, dithered on the ball too much, reminded me a little of Silvestre when he first arrived.

Evra really doesn't look good at the moment, granted he hasn't had a full season or proper run out but the signs look ominous. The actual purchase of the player still mystifies me a bit as we had signed vidic or were going to and that meant we had more than enough cover in the centre meaning silvestre could be used as cover on the left.Say what you want about silvestre if were to sell him and keep evra imo its a crap decision as he has been here quite a few years now and is not as bad as some like to make out.Evra at left midfield or wing you have to be joking.Giggs, ronaldo, park etc they are wingers not evra im afraid.

Maybe Fergie was sceptical about pushing Silvestre out on the left, we all know he doesn't want to play there.

yeah you could be right, silvestre did say a few weeks ago that he doesn't want to leave to and fight for his place which was good and maybe left back maybe his only choice now considering the form of rio, vidic and brown.Id play him at left back all the time think hes got the pace, links up well with the wingers not bad in the air and delivers good cross field passes. Was my fav left back since irwin even though gabby is class.

He might fancy a starting spot at left back on the national team as well.

Just watched the game but I knew the score before sitting down to it. Without the nerves of watching a live game - I thought Evra had a torrid first 20-30 mins but improved as the game went on, esp in the 2nd half. Personally I thought Evra replaced Silvestre for this game because we were playing Pique at RB and therefore needed to compensate for the loss of Gary's attacking threat. He'll get better.

Im with you there Jason, he for me wasn't bought for the lefty back role. Well lets hope not. Still toooooo many question marks though about his strength and fitness for me. I find him lazy and second to the ball all the time!

You are a moron who does not know afeck about football. I watch the match and beside few early minute he was ok.

He is definitely not born to be a great defender.

And his size was a serious issue last night.

I am reserving judgment on him until next year.

Yes, you right. I stupid, you genious.

Size shouldn't be an issue in the debate, but it's being brought up. Neville has had the centre forwards pushed onto him for ages, and teams are just doing that with Evra right now. It was something used on Heinze as well.

Evra, reminds me of Paul Parker, I've said this many a time and continue to do so. I have more confidence in him than I do with Silvestre, and couldn't understand why they switched them late on. Silvestre has had enough chances over the past few years, and hasn't taken advantage of them. If anything, since Silvestre fell out with the French national team's coach and was dropped, his form has dropped with it. Whilst on duty with France, his form at United was excellent, but since then it's gone back to what it was when he first came. That's unacceptable.

Evra is still learning the English game. This is were I contradict myself, by saying he's getting used to being bullied by the bigger players. It's not a tactic that is used much in France, so this is new to him. Once he's got used to that then I think we'll see him perform. Last night he looked a little off pace at first, but once he got going he was sound. He doesn't back out of a challenge on the ground or in the air, no matter who it is.

Evra or Silvestre? Thanks alot Silvestre, but the future is Evra....
