I don't understand why this lad is so highly rated. Yes, he might be talented but folks are talking as if he'll cost 250m or something in that range. For strikers, GOALS is what speaks volumes.
Which he scores regularly. Sure you'll change your tune when Boehly gets him for 150m

He’s 18/19 years old, is a 1 in 2.5/3 striker already for a mid table team, is playing European football, played and scored internationally, playing regularly in the PL, plays under a progressive manager and for a progressive team who won’t be bullied in the transfer market so I think £100+ million is very realistic but he’s a known massive United fan also.

I think we should have went for him before he signed his new contract. In my opinion, he will be far better than Hojlund. He is better now and a couple of years younger.

1 in 3 last season in the PL. He's fecking 18 pal.

Go and look at the goalscoring records of most top strikers over the past couple of decades and see how many where banging in 20+ a season under the age of about 21/22.

Like seriously, do you even watch football? Does this really need to be explained?

It's even much better than that because he rarely plays a full 90 mins. He's scoring at a rate of .57 goals per 90 minutes. Also has a number of assists which bring his goal contributions up to .76 goals per 90. If he was to play every regulation time minute, Ferguson is a 22 goal per season striker with almost 30 goal contributions....at 18.

Spurs might and shall go after him. As Kane replacement
They couldn't afford him. If Brighton don't want to sell, and they don't, we're talking Osimeh style prices being quoted. They're better going after Gift Orban, or maybe Jonathan David though I'm more sceptical about how latter adapts to the league in terms of physical profile .

I'm sorry but what is this even based on? That he has 1 more goal than Hojlund last season? Granted he's 2 years younger but that doesn't really mean anything at this point, he's hardly Erling Haaland

There's absolutely nothing to say that Ferguson is better than Hojlund and will be even more so in the future, that's just pure speculation at this point

Rumours Spurs are considering a British record bid of £120m for Ferguson. I think it’s rubbish personally but it’s picking up a bit of steam.

It would have to be higher than that to benefit Brighton. They’ve done so remarkably well scouting for younger players, but they won’t find a replacement for him any time soon. Centre forwards of his calibre and potential are in very short supply these days.

And regardless of the price, it wouldn’t benefit Ferguson himself. He’s far better off at Brighton.

Has everything needed to become a top striker in Europe imo. He was the one player above all else (kane included) I wanted us to sign.

Big, strong, athletic, two footed, natural finisher, great technique seems like he has a great personality off the field too. Brighton have yet again uncovered a gem.

He's in the right place to become the player ye all want to be signed. Well managed minutes without the burden of being at United at that age. Revisit in 2 years, 1 if he tears it up this season in both PL and europe.

Wait!
I thought Levy was still in charge of that club, at least in a significant role!

same argument could have been be applied to Hojlund

Im trying to imagine Levy handing over 120m

If he sees himself playing CL long term then that would be truly awful move. He’d be landlocked for a good 4-5 years minimum and even then someone would have to shell out £120m+ for him.

Like someone else said above, we should have gone in early on him before he signed his contract. I think the reason we didn’t was that we thought we could get Hojland significantly cheaper than we ended up paying.

He'd only scored a couple of goals, and even if we'd bid he probably would have signed a new contract. He's obviously thinking about what's best for his career at this point in time, so I can't see him going to Spurs for a WR fee right now, either.

Both Brighton and the player himself made it fairly clear he had no intention of moving this summer so I think we knew along with every other club that is watching him that it would be a waste of time trying. I would like to think we preferred Hojlund anyway but even if we did not I imagine this deal would have been too difficult and the price significantly higher than we paid Atalanta.

Zero chance of him going to Spurs.

Even if Spurs had that kind of money, Levy could never bring himself to play the game that Tony Bloom forces other executives to play for his most coveted assets: I'll never name a price, but I'll let you keep bidding and maybe I'll accept one day. Levy is that guy who needs to "win" every transfer by doing everything imaginable to drive the price up or down and will shoot himself in the foot rather than take the risk that somebody else might have gotten over on him.

Think the contract signing was more to reward him with a payrise - think he had loads of time left on the original contract.

He had no intention of moving, so no one bothered trying to sign him. He doesn't appear daft, he knows he's in the right place for his career now.

Indeed it was not just improved wages, but he has already said he would not have moved away anyway.

Notice the word opinion.

Nobody knows who will be better in the future.

This young Irish lad looks like a proper, proper talent. Heard even some Wayne Rooney comparisons.

It's a shame he'll never play for United because he's a United fan and we already bought a young striker, who i'm cautiously optimistic about(Hojlund). But i think Ferguson is going to be better with a higher ceiling. Already establishing himself in the Premier league(best league in the world) at the age of 18. That is basically Haaland level career trajectory, hype.

Will be tough to swallow seeing him in a Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle or Liverpool shirt someday.

If anyone else gets him ill be pissed. I need him in this squad. This squad needs an irish player or it'll never win a major trophy ever again.

Would be great to get him to compete with Højlund but guess we gonna miss out unless owners change

Back in the day untied would have been all over this but days of united snapping up the young UK talent and outstanding performers in the league are long gone it seems

Probably best to watch him first. But I agree that in my opinion Ferguson is a world class talent.
