Maybe but in reality there’s no actual queue into the first team. Rashford, McNair, Blackett, McTominay for example weren’t first in line when they came into the first team squad.
Most managers will pick the players that align with their style of play, not based off of hierarchy.

You guys are getting far too carried away, he has done nothing to warrant a chance. Garner is playing a league above for a club in the midtable and has shown far more to date to be more ready at this moment.Impossible to say he needs too much space without seeing him at a higher level.

But you came up with a very specific negative about his game, that he needs too much space to do his thing. How could you know that without seeing him tested at a higher level where that space is restricted more?
Saying Galbraith is "slow and laboured" and then bigging up James Garner in the same breath, makes zero sense to me.
Just a comment based on what I've seen him which admittedly is only a few games but his turning circle seems slow and labored and often takes too long to get his head up, I may well be wrong but he strikes me as someone who needs a lot of time, he isn't looking where it's going before he receives it etc and I just don't think he will be afforded that at the top level and it's a very hard thing to improve.
His turning circle would be the last thing I'd class as a negative. If anything that's his strength.

Physicality and experience mainly. Bit surprised we didn't recall him and try for a Championship loan.He is an amazing talent. What’s needed to make another level up? Physical buildup? It’s very interesting to see how he will continue his development for the next two years.
