If Jose is leaving in the summer for certainty,would you want to bring in a new player ?
If the player is a good one, then he should be purchased regardless of the managerial situation.
If you have a player like Godin (I am using him as an example, only), who is a great CB, it doesn't matter whether Jose stays or goes. If Jardim comes in the Summer, for example, I think he'd be quite happy to have Godin at his disposal.
We need an experienced CB. Anybody who knows anything about our team knows that we are in desperate need for an experienced CB.
We should be getting the young Ajax CB who is definitely attainable. The two mentioned in the thread title are probably not but if so will come at a very high price

My bad, the english version said he did but the spanish version said it was just an agreement.
Fairly sure that was the release clause we were trying to pay last summer (i.e. before his reported contract renewal).

Yeah. Anyone we bring in in one of the vital positions will be a lot of use to another manager. Specially if it's big step up in the CB department.
If we bring in a RW as a fix, well at least we've got one. The next manager could go for someone else and actually have backup there.
If we're talking CM/DM then it gets tougher, because these are really suited to each manager.
Striker is an even tougher one. If the board knows it's likely Jose will go then it's probably best to hold off.
That said, if say Neves is available for midfield, I'd like us to go for him. We've slept on a lot and said there's no one available while other teams fill their boots.

Do you think we'll get him? He's 33 in February, I don't think its a wise a choice for either party moving to another league in the middle of a season at that age.
No I reckon Godin will stay at Atletico and either retire there or move back to South America in a few years. I think Godin makes a lot of sense for us as he'll shore up our defence and won't cost much, but no chance it'll happen in January imo.
