Hes got to move on. Hes young in CB terms and can still fulfil some of the enormous potential he had, but he needs games and our notorious physio department will never keep him fit.
Don’t think I can ever rate him after those 30 minutes vs PSG.
Young was phenomenal that game, quite a few times he saved us with off the line clearances.Had been injured and off the team for a while then was thrown in the deep end, and IIRC he also had Young as his RWB support. he was horrible but it wasn't just his responsibility

There was a reason why he stayed on and Bailly went off.

He is very lovable guy, I hope he still has a chance.
He did, and Young had one his best ever games in a United shirt...Had been injured and off the team for a while then was thrown in the deep end, and IIRC he also had Young as his RWB support. he was horrible but it wasn't just his responsibility
Doubt we will move on from him, we need cover for centre back. Jones is 100% will not be used and will leave (he can’t even get a game since that Sheffield disaster), Rojo is likely to leave & who knows about Smalling.
even with Jones out of favour, he’s ahead of Bailly in the pecking order. Even Rojo is!
Bailly should be first out the door, although always being injured means no one will buy him.
The ageing ones who have been in the club for long time should be the one to leave first. They have been given more chances & years and never redeem themselves, time to move on not stick with them until 10 years.
I agree to an extent. All of Bailly, Rojo and Jones need to go - but at least Jones has put in some decent performances and runs of form down the years. Bailly can’t even jump properly to head the ball, awful player.
Sometime we just have to move on not being sympathy to a player who had “decent“ performances in the past.
I said Jones should go! It just shows how utterly appalling Bailly is that he’s behind Jones. For clarity, and I’m repeating myself here - Bailly, Rojo and Jones all need to be binned - but they should go in that order, although ideally I’d just get rid of them all now. Unfortunately they are all so bad that no team wants them, so we sent one of our best CBs to Rome - just because someone wanted him, and we couldn’t give the others away.
You don't get it don't you.
The point is that we can't get rid all of them, if we have to let someone go then it has to be Jones before Bailly because he's been here longer than the others, time to move on because we cannot just keep giving him another years just because he had "decent" performance in the past.
I DO get it.
You are right about moving on...
Simply put, Bailly is so bad, and so unreliable, every day of the week I’d play Jones ahead of him. Jones in the present is more reliable and is a better CB than Bailly.
Bailly is not some kid, this is his 4th season, he’s 26 in a couple of months - I’ve seen nothing in Bailly to suggest he can make it here, bar 4-5 games at the start of his time here.
Mind you, William Prunier was man of the match in his first game, so we shouldn’t go off of first impressions!
I wouldn't play Jones above him. Jones will not make any improvement in the future. While Bailly has slightly better chance to make improvement. Jones has been here way too long and made ZERO improvement, he doesn't deserve another year thus why I said move on. Bailly deserves to be given at least another year.
If you are looking to develop a player I agree that Bailly should play. However if you are looking to replace an injured player or to rotate, Jones is ready but Bailly is not imo.I wouldn't play Jones above him. Jones will not make any improvement in the future. Of course Jones won’t improve, but his level has always been far higher than Bailly.
Bailly won’t improve, he can’t even get himself on the pitch. The only way I would advocate Bailly staying is if he goes out on loan and stays fit and plays well for a decent side.
Bailly has done nothing to suggest he deserves another year, we are far better off giving minutes to Tuenzebe to develop with Jones being backup to Maguire and Lindelof. Bailly does not fit into the equation. We wouldn’t even notice let alone miss him if he left.

Bailly has done nothing you said but what Jones? has he done something to deserve another year?
Bailly has been in the club for 4 seasons while Jones has been in the club for 9 seasons. Neither have done anything to be deserved to stay in the club, if there is anyone out of these two that deserve to stay another season is Bailly not Phil Jones, simply because Jones had been in here more than double of the season Bailly has.
Neither deserve to stay, and in an ideal world I’d get rid of of Bailly, Rojo and Jones. Your obsession with number of seasons is ridiculous. a lemon is a lemon, no matter how long he’s been at the club.
Bailly deserves nothing.
If his contract is up at the end of the season, they cut him off. The rumour is that we have an option to extend him for two years. If we do this we are just lumbered with him, and paying him a large wage for zero return.
unfortunately all three are very difficult to shift, as.
- they are all crap
- They are on high wages
- Their fitness records are appalling
The same goes with Jones, you are keep acting like he did something he deserves that 10th season. He deserves nothing and all he did is spent most of his career injured.
Number is number but you don't keep something deadwood for a decade ffs! Move on!
Bailly showed a promising season in his first season and I am not talking about 9-10 seasons ago here like Jones. How does Jones deserve a decade chances while Bailly doesn't deserve his half decade chances here in your view.
