Hes got to move on. Hes young in CB terms and can still fulfil some of the enormous potential he had, but he needs games and our notorious physio department will never keep him fit.

Even if he was made of steel and not glass, he's still be shit. He is as rash and brainless as they come. Own goal/red card/penalty given away waiting to happen. If anything it benefits us that he's never fit because it keeps his dumb ass off the pitch. The sooner he, Rojo and Jones are gone, the better. Imagine having three of the same player essentially, feck, get them out.

Don’t think I can ever rate him after those 30 minutes vs PSG.

Had been injured and off the team for a while then was thrown in the deep end, and IIRC he also had Young as his RWB support. he was horrible but it wasn't just his responsibility

Young was phenomenal that game, quite a few times he saved us with off the line clearances.

There was a reason why he stayed on and Bailly went off.

Young certainly was not phenomenal up until Bailly going off. Him staying on is hardly evidence that he was having a phenomenal game, players have terrible games and stay on all the time. And my responsibility remark was in regards to the coaching team even throwing Bailly in that game

Like him a lot but I worry given the number of injuries he's had. I'm less worried about his rash style as I think that can be resolved with training and maturity. I would loan rather than sell him and would sooner he played a role in the squad rather than Rojo and Jones.

Javier Zanetti, Cristiano Ronaldo etc never had big injuries, so it’s not a matter of luck, it’s a matter of how tou play and how you work off the pitch

Time to get rid of this bluff, like him and Rojo

He did, and Young had one his best ever games in a United shirt...

Don't know where he'll be in the pecking order when he's back, and it might be the case that we move him on come summer, but I'd quite like to see him partner Maguire.

Doubt we will move on from him, we need cover for centre back. Jones is 100% will not be used and will leave (he can’t even get a game since that Sheffield disaster), Rojo is likely to leave & who knows about Smalling.

even with Jones out of favour, he’s ahead of Bailly in the pecking order. Even Rojo is!

Bailly should be first out the door, although always being injured means no one will buy him.

The ageing ones who have been in the club for long time should be the one to leave first. They have been given more chances & years and never redeem themselves, time to move on not stick with them until 10 years.

I agree to an extent. All of Bailly, Rojo and Jones need to go - but at least Jones has put in some decent performances and runs of form down the years. Bailly can’t even jump properly to head the ball, awful player.

Sometime we just have to move on not being sympathy to a player who had “decent“ performances in the past.

I said Jones should go! It just shows how utterly appalling Bailly is that he’s behind Jones. For clarity, and I’m repeating myself here - Bailly, Rojo and Jones all need to be binned - but they should go in that order, although ideally I’d just get rid of them all now. Unfortunately they are all so bad that no team wants them, so we sent one of our best CBs to Rome - just because someone wanted him, and we couldn’t give the others away.

We're light in numbers but Bailly should be moved on to whoever is stupid enough to take him before he gets injured again

Has shown nothing outside of 3-4 months in his first season. Most overrated United player in recent years. The fact people still champion him is testament to this.

Tuanzebe is injured, Rojo seems to be leaving, Jones isn't trusted. We actually need Bailly right now, which is crazy, considering we had 7 CBs in the summer.

You don't get it don't you.

The point is that we can't get rid all of them, if we have to let someone go then it has to be Jones before Bailly because he's been here longer than the others, time to move on because we cannot just keep giving him another years just because he had "decent" performance in the past.

Think hed be a better partner for Maguire with his speed, and one on one defending ability to sweep up behind Maguire.

You just know he will get injured.

I loaned him to Porto in FM and he got his leg broken. 10 months. His injury record is that bad that FM algorithm gives him 10 months injury. He was a very promising player.

I love Bailly.
Wanna know why?
Because he is made of FIRE
He lacks everything else but he plays like his career depends on it as every player should. He just falls way short. But the guy doesn't ever fall short of pure effort and his physical attributes are off the chart.when Eric plays well he looks world class.

One.....he never plays.
Two....when he does the world class showings are very little.

Love you you crazy bastard but you need to leave

I DO get it.

You are right about moving on...

Simply put, Bailly is so bad, and so unreliable, every day of the week I’d play Jones ahead of him. Jones in the present is more reliable and is a better CB than Bailly.

Bailly is not some kid, this is his 4th season, he’s 26 in a couple of months - I’ve seen nothing in Bailly to suggest he can make it here, bar 4-5 games at the start of his time here.

Mind you, William Prunier was man of the match in his first game, so we shouldn’t go off of first impressions!

I wouldn't play Jones above him. Jones will not make any improvement in the future. While Bailly has slightly better chance to make improvement. Jones has been here way too long and made ZERO improvement, he doesn't deserve another year thus why I said move on. Bailly deserves to be given at least another year.

Is he still not ready for even U23 level? I thought he would play at least one half yesterday.

Talented player crippled by injuries. Deserves another chance ahead of Jones and Rojo.

Of course Jones won’t improve, but his level has always been far higher than Bailly.

Bailly won’t improve, he can’t even get himself on the pitch. The only way I would advocate Bailly staying is if he goes out on loan and stays fit and plays well for a decent side.

Bailly has done nothing to suggest he deserves another year, we are far better off giving minutes to Tuenzebe to develop with Jones being backup to Maguire and Lindelof. Bailly does not fit into the equation. We wouldn’t even notice let alone miss him if he left.

If you are looking to develop a player I agree that Bailly should play. However if you are looking to replace an injured player or to rotate, Jones is ready but Bailly is not imo.

He's been utterly shite since about his 4th month here. Needs to go. Would prefer to keep Jones and bring back Smalling. Both far far better players.

Bailly has done nothing you said but what Jones? has he done something to deserve another year?

Bailly has been in the club for 4 seasons while Jones has been in the club for 9 seasons. Neither have done anything to be deserved to stay in the club, if there is anyone out of these two that deserve to stay another season is Bailly not Phil Jones, simply because Jones had been in here more than double of the season Bailly has.

Ready to meet our physio? There is nothing to suggest that who is less injury prone out these two, history tells itself that both are equally injury prone.

Neither deserve to stay, and in an ideal world I’d get rid of of Bailly, Rojo and Jones. Your obsession with number of seasons is ridiculous. a lemon is a lemon, no matter how long he’s been at the club.

Bailly deserves nothing.

If his contract is up at the end of the season, they cut him off. The rumour is that we have an option to extend him for two years. If we do this we are just lumbered with him, and paying him a large wage for zero return.

unfortunately all three are very difficult to shift, as.
  1. they are all crap
  2. They are on high wages
  3. Their fitness records are appalling

The same goes with Jones, you are keep acting like he did something he deserves that 10th season. He deserves nothing and all he did is spent most of his career injured.

Number is number but you don't keep something deadwood for a decade ffs! Move on!

Bailly showed a promising season in his first season and I am not talking about 9-10 seasons ago here like Jones. How does Jones deserve a decade chances while Bailly doesn't deserve his half decade chances here in your view.

Sell him. Axel is better and younger. Use the cash in midfield. Same with Jones both out of their depth here

can you read?

I’ve said both need to go. And add in Rojo.

What do you not understand about that?

I’m not arguing that Jones is good enough - but if you gave me a choice between the them both Jones would be the one to keep. Unfortunately we may have to make that choice, as otherwise we don’t have enough cover. Maguire, Lindelof and Tuenzebe is not enough - we need at least 4 CBs, maybe 5.

You should also look at the contract situation, if Bailly is out of contract in the summer - he doesn’t deserve another contract and, it’s the perfect time to get rid. there’s no one that can justify paying him for another 2 years.

The reality is Jones has a longer term contract, and he didn’t deserve his new contract, but that’s the reality of the situation and so Bailly should be gone, followed by Rojo and Jones. Hopefully we can get Smalling back which will expedite the culling of the three amigos.

If he actually managed to stay fit I would dare to think he could do well alongside Maguire when he gets back. But with this mad man that too much to ask.
