pacey, strong and technical, he's got a long season ahead of him but I have faith in this guy. Cant wait to see his partnership with Smalling.

He was far more no nonsense than in pre season

Clearly warned not to dwell on the ball with vardy about. Thought it was an outstanding performance

What's even funnier and the picture doesn't show is a guy in a suit has to come and turn him the right way round

He's mad I tellz ya! Just jumping into that Leicester player from a corner, hanging upside down on the board during the celebrations, giving de Gea a hug/massage after catching the ball near the end. I can't wait to see more.

This boy's a proper defender. None of that "good with the ball at his feet" bullshit that you hear about Stones. A good honest defender who defends well. From what I've seen of him so far I like him a lot.

MOTM for me, he's an athletic freak who is also technical, pretty much what you want in a CB these days. So far so good.

At the same time he's probably as good on the ball as Stones is anyway. He is just an actual defender at the same time

Hard not to get carried away, he’s been that good. Some mistakes too, but the composure with the ball combined with the physical presence is convincing. Dancing on the rope though with that kung-fu kick when on a yellow. Also:

Well he is also actually good with the ball at his feet.

Smalling will like playing with him. I think he prefers being the covering defender, and Baily's a natural aggressor.

I fully agree with what your saying but he does seem to be good with the ball at his feet

Love how he goes after the ball. Him bodying Vardy early on was a highlight of the day for me

He was enjoying the physical tussles and the crunching tackles, augurs well for his PL career.
Won tackles everywhere apart from a few mistimed ones.
Very skillful too, cushioned couple of high balls very comfortably to ease pressure
Top signing

What a guy! its a bit early but he looks like he has character which we are in desperate need of, at the minute having the right personality is what we need to be getting as quality shouldn't be the issue. A spine of Smalling, pogba rooney ibra is a great start so hopefully he's got some leadership in him too.

Once. He had vardy in his pocket pretty much all game, on his debut. Good performance!

Three times. He put the ball through his legs twice, first time at start of the game when Blind saved him just in front of de Gea, second time on the centre of the pitch when he made the wrong tackle and they counter attacked us, and later he got completely unnecesary yellow card against him.

Was great today, strong, technical, quick, intercepted some passes with his reading of the game, matched Vardy's pace and Morgan's strength on defensive set pieces.

MotM for me.

Hope he keeps up, could prove to be our best purchase of this summer in the long term.

First time he knocked it passed him, ok fine but no defender can win EVERY challenge. 2nd time he won the ball but it rebounded back off vardy and went passed him - unlucky.

Yes the third time he gave the kick away a bit softly, that's something he needs to learn.

Apart from that though he was solid all game, good passing on the ball and remained composed even under heavy pressure. Good performance IMO.

Covers the ground rapidly, aggressive in the tackle, tremendous aerial presence (he's got spring loaded legs) and good on the ball, I really like what we've seen so far. Personality wise I can see him being the new Evra. :D

Jose will iron out his flaws, I'm sure. With a solid partner, I can see him start most games this season

He was excellent today, very happy he's part of the squad. He's still only young though so needs time to develop.

IF he can develop his brain and game sense to match his athleticism he will be fantastic.
