Didn't seem like a proper injury to me, I thought he was just being cautious as he could feel some pain when he ran. No doubt all stemmed from that kung fu kick from lee.

Played a couple of matches as RB for Villarreal. Makes yesterday’s performance even more impressing, as you said, looked really comfortable and was a force going forward. If only his two passes had been a bit more accurate, he would’ve assisted 1-2 goals. Crazy to think that he’s only 22, which is a young age for a defender. Add to that the small amount of ”football education” aka tactical knowledge etc., what a gem we have!
Buy of the year for me and fast becoming a favourite player of mine

Damn useless ref didn't even book him.
I don't think it was the kick that was the issue, seemed to be struggling when bursting for the ball or landing on it awkwardly.

All signs that there might be ligament damage, personally I'd prefer him to miss the ACON and rehab the knee if there is some sort of damage. My immediate thought is he's rushed himself back from injury because he doesn't want to miss the tournament.
Different knee to the one he had an injury with.

He was injured before the kick.
I think he jarred it as he landed, but seemed to run it off OK. Obviously it's hard to tell what the real cause was, I think at half time when he got cold the problem showed up worse as he seemed OK before it.

I fecked my knee ligaments up in the summer. Just coming good now, albeit without the expert care Eric receives. Some discomfort and apprehension is to be expected. He should be better soon.

Great news that his injury is not serious, but again not sure I am too happy if he is rushed for a few games then off to ACON without fully healed.

Just rewatched the game, he reminded me of Makelele how he zipped up and nicked the ball from opponents (The one who stole right the edge of the ball and created half a chance). Wonder if he can do a job at DM in case Jones & Rojo keep up their CB partnership

His passing is a bit too erratic to play as a dm but I wouldn't mind him coming on in that position when we're trying to protect a lead.

Don't want to quote them but the posts after the Watford game threadmark show just how reactionary the Caf (and football fans in general) can be

Really enjoy watching players like Bailly. Very lively on the pitch and a bit crazy but a great CB to have for the next 8-10 years.

Afrobeats in the dressing room I love it.

Ander's having a shocker though

Was there a reason offered as to why he wasn't in the squad yesterday? Thought Jose said he'd be fit to play

He's such a tank. Can't wait until he's back from AFCON and can properly get back into our back line and build up a partnership with Jones or Rojo.
