Interesting in this era secrecy still remains. Given the negotiation history though, I think they either have a buyback or a price match clause, at the very least a hefty sell on clause. Shame if it is a buyback though, if he fills out and gets that consistency, he’ll be devastating. @mazhar13 have you read anything?
PSG claim that there's a buyback clause, but sources outside of PSG claim otherwise. I don't exactly know who's right, but I prefer to err on the side of caution and say that he doesn't have a buyback clause in his contract for the time being.
PSV is useless... lost to Rangers while Ajax just dominated those same Rangers. I dont think PSV is that good either. Gakpo is very overrated and im very happy that he didnt come to Manchester United. Feyenoord might even end above PSV this season.
What kind of player is he exactly? Might he be a potential target for United instead of De Jong? Or does he play more forward on the pitch?
He is very promising but plays much higher op field.. Dynamic number 10.

He kinda reminds me of Kaka (just stylistically) in terms of dynamic dribbler running you down from central areas. Very promising, but definitely needs to fill out if he wants to make it to a big 6 I think.

I still think he's massively overrated. People are acting like he makes the difference, which is absolute bollocks. The front 4 make the difference and Taylor is an easily replacable player. That said, I do think he's raised his game and especially the match in Utrecht I thought he played very well. Nevertheless I'd still play Kudus in his position as Kudus is the better player.
That was a completely ridiculous penalty. How the ref could give that and how the VAR didn't correct it is beyond me. Michiel Kramer said after the match that it feels like Guzubuyuk wanted to correct his mistake from the Feyenoord - PSV game last year when he gave Feyenoord a ridiculous penalty. In this case, he is probably right. RKC got robbed there.
It's a long season and I'm sure Ajax will have a bad spell somewhere in the season. In the end it doesn't matter how dominant Ajax is now and how much others are struggling. As long as PSV and Feyenoord keep winning and stay close to Ajax, it will be a very close season. It's a bit cliche, but the season isn't won in september. PSV is struggling more than I thought they would though.
All signs point to us winning today. Therefore, I predict a comprehensive 4-1 win for PSV.

I can’t see past a Gakpo led PSV being a nightmare to keep out for the league though so I think it’s a straight shot between the 3.

Quickly ran into the kitchen to get a drink and missed the equaliser to make it 3-3 but then managed to see the winner.
Apart from my nightmare today, I love watching games between Ajax, PSV and Feyenoord, the atmosphere always looks quality. Would love to get over for Feyenoord game at some point but would imagine tickets are hard to come by.

After the great start and then being completely overrun in the Liverpool game, I was wondering if maybe Schreuder might be the kind of coach that can create a great system (continuing Ten Hag's), but isn't the best at tweaking it to specific opponents (which would show especially against strong opposition).

Totally makes sense! It also seems like he doesn’t give the players the confidence boost that EtH did. They seemed to have pooped their pants playing in Liverpool, totally unlike us.
That would be quality judging by the atmosphere today.
haven’t been able to catch more than parts of a few games but should Sittard be bricking it? Their schedule hasn’t been too difficult and with their summer signings thought they would at least be where Sparta are (in the mix for conf league qualifiers). I know it’s early days but the little I watched didn’t seem well organized, defense is a little bit of a shambles
I don't know about that, they're really not the only crap team out there. Cambuur, Volendam, and Emmen may not have much more than they're showing now, and I'd expect RKC and especially Excelsior to drop down soon as well. (Such an uninspiring bunch of clubs really. Why did clubs like Roda, Willem II, and NAC have to become so crap?) Fortuna may also have a bit more money through their owner for winter updates, which would help their new coach make the team do what he wants. So a bit early for panic for them I think. (Although they already fired Ultee, so it's kinda been panic already!)
The Ultee firing was what I was referring to, seems a bit panic stations to fire him after so much investment (relatively speaking). I guess it was more preseason predictions, mine included, having them somewhere around 6-8, but lingering in the relegation zone is probably the biggest surprise in the table for me, followed closely by Sparta.

Fortuna are in a weird place. They have new owners who fall into the familiar trap of signing people they know, rather than people that fit. Signing Burak Yilmaz was a nice PR stunt, but Burak himself doesn't seem to realise he didn't exactly join Bayern Munich and is walking around annoyed that his teammates are rather cack. They fired their very competent coach to replace him with some Spanish trainer who behaves like a Simeone knock off (granted, he somehow won his first game).
They are clearly better than clubs like Volendam and FC Emmen and I doubt they will be relegated directly.

Though granted, Excelsior is a bit of a boring club, they will end this season midtable I think. Their team is surprisingly good. RKC is also clearly better than the aforementioned clubs as any team with that cnut Michiel Kramer up top will always be annoying to play and they play surprisingly good football. The fight for last place will be between Emmen and Volendam I think. They're both crap.
Yeah, I was also thinking it's all southern clubs I was thinking of! But I guess it's more a kind of nostalgia for the 80s/90s, Panini stickers, and all that. That's why I feel Zwolle belongs up there more than Heracles, even if Heracles has probably been in the Eredivisie more the past decade or so.

Yes they do! Roda were very good in the 90s. They finished 2nd in 1995 only behind Van Gaal's Ajax. Willem 2 has been in the CL in the late ninetees (maybe even early 00s, not sure).
Yeah, when Co 'Scorebordjournalistiek' Adriaanse was their coach. They've also been champions once, but I think that was back in the 60s.
OK, I'll look that up. Willem II actually won it three times! In 1915/16 and twice in the 50s. Plus they won the cup twice, in the 40-s and 60s. And Roda JC were champions in the 50s (I didn't know that) and won the cup twice in the 90s (I know that but had completely forgotten about it).
But more generally, I meant that both have been in the Eredivisie for most of their existence, and to me just have more to them than clubs like Excelsior, Volendam, Cambuur, Emmen, or Fortuna. Even RKC has actually been in the Eredivisie most of the time since the 90s - and I see NAC actually has been an Eredivisie club for most of its history, until their descent in the last 10 years.
Although none of that means anything if they're just not good enough of course - and probably a lot of my perception is anyway coloured by which clubs I associate most with playing against TOP!
Roda's 95 team was awesome. I still have the panani football stickerbook of that year. Amazing times!
Do you guys think Schreuder can steady the ship at Ajax? The fieldplay looks like absolute shit in my opinion and I wasn't a massive fan of Schreuders work at previous clubs. Bosz in?
