Can't believe no one set up a thread for this.

Can someone explain why in Test cricket Anderson can bowl 100 overs for 1 run but in ODI he gets hit for 100 off each over?

Glad Morgan was chosen instead of Bopara, Tremlett deserved to keep his place as well.

Not sure about the weather over the next few days, only 12 overs possible so far today.

Lanka's bowling looks surprisingly under-whelming tbh, don't know why they haven't picked Kulasekera, he would have been good in English Conditions.

Excellent catch by Broad to end the SL innings, 400 all out. P. Jayawardene played very well for his century.

It's ridiculous for the talent and ability of someone like Pietersen that he gets out so frequently to slow left armers

Trott doing the business yet again. Sultan will not be pleased.

Scores level, England don't seem to be in any rush to get a 80-100 run lead today and bowl at SL tomorrow.

Not impressed by the SL attack, England's batters have played well but there hasn't been anything of great note from the Sri Lankans. Match will be drawn.

Possibly, England bowling very well at the moment but will need to get Sangakarra & Mahela out soon if they want to win. Conditions are suiting the English bowlers.

It's rubbish actually. Don't why they picked Mendis, as it's clear that now he's no more than a average bowler.

This is the first time I'm watching Mendis in a Test match live and he is a very ordinary bowler. Bowls a fair few full-tosses and for a 'mystery spinner' a lot of his deliveries don't seem to spin at all.

Sky said he has only taken 4 test wickets outside of Sri Lanka, which is shockingly bad.

Another one, still plenty of time...

He started off well because he was that mystery bowler, who had different variations. Once teams started to pick him off, he has just become an average bowler. Nevertheless he is quite good in ODI's because his economical bowler, however in tests he is gonna struggle.

Randiv and Herath are much better than him.

Sangakarra gone now, huge wicket.

Swann with another, the guy is incredible - always takes a wicket when England need it most. Can they pull off an unlikely win?

Another wicket, albeit on review.

Shocking collapse from SL, England's attack can be devestating in these conditions.

Swann is comfortably the best spinner in the world right now, it's amazing how much he has progressed in last two years.

And another, Swann & England on fire.

Game not over though. Perrera can bat and Mendis can hang around. Although England will still win I guess.

Wonder what the reaction would have been had this been Pakistan?

Pakistan would definitely be suspected of cheating, just like when we collapsed in Australia and people said they threw the match. It's a shame that each Pak collapse will be scrutinised but they brought it upon themselves.

Brilliant catch, 1 wicket left...

Fantastic victory, what a great few hours of cricket, shocking collapse from SL gives England an innings win. The bowlers bowled very well, the conditions did help but they did bowl a lot of good stuff. This match had draw written all over it, credit to England for the win. Swann was exceptional.

What is it about Cardiff boring test till the last day. How the hell did England win this first test.

Trott gets man of the match, can't argue against someone making 200 to be MotM but I think Swann deserved it for his wonderful spell.

This match once again shows why Test cricket is the best form of the game.

Bowling Sri Lanka out for 80odd in 25 overs, who certainly have 2 of the world's greatest batsman in their side and with only 3 full time bowlers available due to the best bowler out injured??? I don't believe you. Neither will India.
Isn't that now 4 wins with an innings in hand in the last 5 test matches?
