England vs India One Day Internationals

Some people really ought to calm down over some "meaningless ODIs"

My name is hardly "English". You going to start saying that I'm not English even though I was born and brought up in England? This thread stinks indirect racism.

We've won the real prize.

ODI is where it's at.

That said England would've won the Test Series had it not been for injuries.

spot on - injuries and the weather prevented England winning the Test series, as everyone knows really.

India were slaughtered in the final, the gulf in class really showed through

Overall a good tour for India. We won the Test series, comfortably in the end. Kumble scored a century.

But it was good win for England in the ODIs, especially playing away from home.

And Tendulkar > Lara.

Hehe... that was great, especially the Oval, despite the loss

The beauty of it is, that even though one day cricket doesn't come close to test cricket as a game, in India they think it's well important... thus bragging rights are restored

Oval's looking fantastic. I love the plans they've got for Laker and Locke stands. Apparently it'll be mirrored on the other side of pavilion too. About time Old Trafford got it's arse into gear and all.

Great tour. Very successful.

Great to see Ian Bell outscore the likes of Dravid, Tendulkar and Ganguly.

Who cares? Sachin was brilliant. God knows many he would have got if he hadnt got so many poor decisions. Legend.

Its strange, India won the tests, which England value more, then England won the ODI's which the Indians value highly.

Swings and roundabouts, even matched teams, but England stronger in both departments

We smashed your arses at our place...6-1 IIRC...And that was last year. You managed to just defeat an ageing, slow Indian side with no Harbhajan Pathan Sehwag Kaif and Munaf...

Home advantage counts for a lot.We were the inferior side in the ODI's...but a large portion of the blame goes to how we were on the field and some shocking bowling options.

Yes but that is your side

Yes, that's how your inferiority manifested itself on this occasion

Point is...you can't boast about how your side is now among the best in the world just because you got a narrow victory in a series against a half decent Indian side.

Who is claiming that we are one of the best one day side's all I see is people posting about beating India in a great series.

I'd say we're the better Test side.A poor ODI side because of some key players getting the boot...
