The small stuff adds up though. You catch Jurel you have a 80 run lead, you bat a little bit better you have a 260 run lead, you bowl a bit better at the end of the day and they’re looking at 240 to chase on Day 4 rather than 150. That’s a big difference. And that’s the stuff England could control, as you say Jurel and Kuldeep played well and there’s not much you can do about it.
I do agree on Wood, his skiddy action would have been very useful here but he’s not going to play back to back games, especially with how little time England give their bowlers rest during games. I think had England known the pitch would have these cracks 2 weeks ago, they’d have definitely selected different for the 3rd and 4th tests.
