England in India 2021

I turn the volume down once in awhile because Pant never shuts up. It's entertaining when you're watching for a few overs, but he has been yelling since cricket restarted and I'm trying to get work done. Must really get to the batsmen - kudos to his enthusiasm.
Yeah I imagine it's ok for a while then fecking annoying after that :)

England hanging in there, just about.

Looks flat for the seamers with the old ball.
Yeah looks like a good call to pick the extra spinner. I'd gave gone Archer over Anderson but can see why they went the way they did.

Not watching but the scorecard suggests I should be blaming the pitch.
120 for 4 looked a decent platform. With Stokes gone, I think we can start blaming the pitch now.

The former English cricketers are revving up their twitter accounts right now.

300 would be great score here. I Reckon Ashwin's been underbowled.

Ipl is expensive. The cheapest test match ticket is 1 gbp per day. The cheapest ipl one is 10gbp but that prices out a lot of the working class. A MCD burger would cost you a little over 1gbp for context.

Chennai right? In Bangalore cheapest one is around same but it's around for 500 seats and you can't see anything from there. After that next cheapest one is around 18-20 pounds, it's frustrating. Previously we used to pay around 500-600 INR for the long off/on seats. Even the midwicket seats which was the best seats to watch the game. Now they have made it 4X.

Should send a strongly worded message to modmins for that.
Seems you're involved in every squabble on this thread. Maybe try chilling out and enjoy the fact that you can discuss cricket with like-minded folk?

Did someone say its going to be 39 degrees tomorrow? That's bonkers. Surely it's getting close to unplayable if so?

and that was happening exactly before that "person" came in and made a weird comment about Indian fans.

Can't play spin to save his life Pope. Hopefully learns from this tour.

Yup. I don’t enjoy the ipl much so don’t bother going. Test cricket for the view straight behind/front is 5000 for all five days.. i think that one is pretty good value

Tomorrow's only going to be slightly hotter than today in Ahmedabad - I think we're already at 38.

I'm sure the heat itself won't be as much of a problem as what it will do to the pitch in a day or two.

Wow, that's next-level hot.

Remember England playing in Adelaide years ago and them nearly calling the game off. Think it got past 40 though.

Fantastic analysis here - 'I think England needed a bigger partnership'.

Good call, aye.

The dismissal was a tad unlucky but he looked all at sea v Ashwin regardless. Very frenetic.

Where's your next Ashes? If it's in Australia then I think Lyon will chew him alive.

Bar what can now only be described as a fluke first test, is this the most feeble England tour of India in recent history? Absolutely dreadful stuff.

Not particularly unexpected, so maybe a tad on the harsh side. But it's not been good.

This is also a very good India side. But we have not made them work hard enough.

Think that was the right decision. The side angle showed that the ball deflected as if it was ground first.

Why they are checking so long? Is it because of useless controversy last match? That clearly touched ground

Clearly hit the ground and then boot.
