This pitch will be a minefield come day three. Not a fan of the toss being so crucial, kind of spoils the game a bit it. India don’t often win too many tosses so it’s a good time to get one.
Yeah Buttler's the sort of guy who could have gone for it and scored a reckless 100. This sort of situation might actually have been made for him.

It's like a day 4 or 5 pitch already though. We've got no chance batting on this.
By day 3 this pitch will be an absolute minefield, if we even get to day 3

I'm not downplaying India today, Rohit in particular has played an incredible innings.
England pretty relaxed about over rate.
I think Aussies pitches are the best in that aspect.
Our only hope is Root doing the same but doing it day 2 is an entirely different prospect, can’t see us getting a result out of this

Think it's a bit unfair to bemoan the state of the pitch. Everyone knows you can get these pitches and conditions when touring this part of the world.
It would be like a touring side getting frustrated by overcast, swinging conditions in England - and pitches that accommodate it.
It's just how it can be, and teams should prepare best they can for it. England have some decent spinners but no-one with the sort of quality to dominate and take total advantage of this surface. Expect India's spinners to get some mad figures here.

Very decent day. If we can get close 400 then surely that'd be amazing.
This is a challenging pitch but if one bats with the right intent and not too defensive , it is still good pitch to bat. I feel england missed a huge trick by not playing Buttler. I get giving rest and all but it's not like ashes or whatever they are prioritizing is next month itself. Bess should have been picked too. Weird choice this.
