Big blow losing those 2 wickets at this time but I still think its a decent total for England be even better if they can get around 350
 
An excellent nut from Siddle to dismiss Proir, who was looking good.

Siddle's going to have a big impact on this series.
 
England will probably make around 360 or 370 which isn't a bad score.
 
As of now I'd say teams are even. Didnt see the cricket today so no idea about the wicket. Did England decide to bat first because it's a batting pitch or because they're playing two spinners?

A welcome change from the days of Mcgrath, Warne and co when one would've expected the first day of the Ashes to end with England 150 all out and Australia 175 - 2.

This one is looking nicely poised.

Wouldn't that be because it's going to deteriorate, and the Pom's have got two spinners in their line-up?

Would be murdered in the second innings, especially if it's on the fifth day.
 
Australia being belted around by tail enders. Why the bloody hell is Nathan Hauritz even in the Australian squad let alone on the pitch.

Stuart Clark 'a medium pace bowler' gets better movement from his cutters then Hauritz's spin.
 
Anderson got himself out there which was a pity. The Aussies were just beginning to look decidedly average, but the score is looking more than respectable.

Aussies look proper pissed off, cracking score we've got now.

Now to knock them over for less than 350 and the game's ours IMO.
 
Great recovery this morning, 435 gives us the advantage. we just need some real aggressive bowling now.
 
Flintoff strikes. Hughes looked edgy, even though the bowling wasn't exceptional.

Ponting now. I hope he falls soon. Twat.

I saw him in the lobby of The Metropole Hotel when they were playing Sussex a couple of weeks ago and made a kangaroo tut tut tut noise and said in my best cod Aussie: "What is it Skip? All your good bowlers have gone?". He glared.

I'll probably get shot down by the fellow Australians, but Ponting really is a prick of a man. A good cricketer, but somebody I don't respect as a person. I'd rather Mike Hussey be captain then he.
 
flat deck. Most test match pitches seem to dead thesedays - they do help batsmen look great, though.

Ponting's the epitome of the hardbitten Aussie cricketer, who doesn't give a feck so longs as he wins (and normally does).

On a track like this 450 isn't as great as it sounds. If Aus get over 500, they could be in a good position to win the game.
