Emi Martinez

United should try to get him next summer after the Henderson/De Gea experiment inevitably fails.

Oh yeah I remember reading the Ramsdale link. Guy has some agent to keep getting him premier league sides, about 10 better keepers than him in the championship.

That's issue for Arsenal really. Leno going to have to play every game next season unless you just want to give up the cups and Arteta really can't afford to go out of either early if he wants to stay the whole season.

Why couldnt you have gone with Martinez as number 1 and sold Leno?
Leno is on much higher wages, much more difficult to shift him. Martinez was on third choice goalies wages.

To be fair to Ramsdale, he's still really young for a keeper, and did have a good 2nd part of the season. He was player of the year for Bournemouth, & player of the year for Sheffield Utd. He's obviously not worth the crazy money Sheffield Utd will want though.
Remember, at 22 / 23 Martinez was going on loan to the likes of Rotherham.

We'll defo sign a keeper, there's no way we'll go into the new season without signing 1.

Blunder from Arsenal to let him go. A costly mistake.

Not really. They had two top keepers and one had to leave. Leno was their #1 and Martinez wanted first team football after being at the club for a few years. Some decisions are hard in leadership positions and there really wasn't a good reason to switch Leno for Martinez, especially after the former has been their best player for almost 2 seasons.

It did the job, would love for us to have a keeper with a bit of bite and an attitude to be honest.

Yes, making Bruno even more nervous, absolutely would love to have someone like him or Vardy(another one whose celebrations are always targeting the opposition fans  ). Football has kinda become too PR constructed in today's world. Filled with good boys(just the image).

Is he is the biggest shithouser in the EPL?

Yes he was just messing with Ronaldo and Bruno during penalty.
Other than the fact it happened against us and it worked, it was brilliant

He has nothing to lose by doing it

yes, I am not complaining, I actually love these kind of shit housery.
Him was Columbia in that shootout was absolutely legendary too
Yeah I didn't think you were complaining, I'm complaining it worked against us, he

And agree we could do with more people like him

And proceeded to buy Ramsdale for more than they sold Martinez for.

Hand was kinda forced though wasn't it, with Martinez refusing to compete for the No.1 position. Should've trusted himself that he could displace Leno.

Hopefully Ronaldo or Bruno will have a chance to take one back at him when we play them at Villa park.

But his antics were fun I must admit although it was against us.

We could have had Martinez as our number 1 but instead we have Ramsdale.

(Ramsdale has actually been fine in the few games he’s played so far but Martinez is one of the best in the league)

Praising trash talking is a new level of low. Yeah, he's done well to throw penalty takers off a couple of times this year. But too early to throw around Lehmann, VDS comparisons.

It really isn't. Don't you find it entertaining?

It was awesome. hate that it was done to us but any other team, let alone DDG doing it to someone else and we'd be all over it

What I like about him it's that he respects people, he has class. I mean, he does his shithousery but after that he goes after those players and shake hands, and it happens both ways. Like he did vs Solteldo after his panenka penalty

They should put a mic beside his goal that he can pick up when a pen is conceded, so we can all hear him.

If you smell... what the Marti.....is cookin.

Well as I said, some decisions are hard. At the point in time, there was no reason to drop Leno based on his performances. Martinez is a top keeper and obviously wanted first team football. Arsenal isn't the first and won't be the last club to have 2 first-choice GK's at a club. Utd has that problem right now. Don't for one minute think that Henderson won't leave if given the chance if De Gea remains the first choice for a long period.

And then that cheeky little dance after Bruno's miss.

This was great  Would have loved if it was against someone besides us, but even then I can't deny it was really funny. If one of our players did that I would love it.

I never really get why more Goalkeepers don't try to turn the penalty taker off?

Dudeks dancing, Martinez's shouting - it does work.

I suppose it also has to do with Leno now refusing to sign a new deal. Didn't you guys try to sell him this summer as well?

I imagine many like the comfort blanket of being in a no lose situation (in a normal situation keepers never get blamed for letting in a pen even if it goes through their body).

If you play excessive mind games and get panenka'd you look like a bit of a tit.

Another great performance yesterday with a stunning save vs Suarez. He gives lots of security, has a great character.

Don't think he'll last that much at Villa
