Emergency Board Meeting called to discuss the future of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

I guess people should respect Castles as a legitimate source now then.
I think some people may have given him credit for getting the odd story from agents.

The bizarre thing about today is he's proven to have legitimate sources at board level. He's been saying on his podcast for weeks that Glazers weren't happy with performances given level of investment, and the decision to sack Ole was a matter of when. I don't tend to believe anyone who claims that level of inside knowledge but he's clearly got connections.

Looks like it’s going to be Fletcher and Carrick then, I’m just praying it’s only for one game until we find a more suitable option.
Don’t worry, as soon as a Zidane type figure comes in, these guys will be packing their bags. Wonderful players in their time but really have got very lucky as jobs for the boys these last few years.

Fletcher ? What the feck has he done so far that warrant an interim position. And what is his position again ? Technical Director ? Has any technical director ever become interim manager ? Seems so random and stupid

Also takes part in training for some odd reason he’s always pictured with the players, the whole thing is a mess.

pointless getting rid of Ole if the rest of this crap coaching setup remain in place.

Why’s Carrick being spared then? I guess he wasn’t technically Ole’s appointment, but then neither was McKenna

Why do we brief the media, why don't we simply do it?

No matter what Oles recent performance has been, it's a poor sequence of events to act that way and for what? Just to make out that you're doing something? Just do it!

We always seem to make as much of a botch of the sackings as we do the appointments. How hard can it be for figures associated with one of the biggest sporting institutions on the planet to make a simple decision and announce it when done...

We need a clean sweep of coaches like Carrick and others Ole appointed. Clearly what they're doing with the players doesn't work on the pitch.

The media are pretty much putting 2+2 together here.

We might not be briefing them, could be someone leaking it too.

Some of the United fan journos should start putting out articles about how supporters will not accept Rodgers.

To be honest we accepted worse than him so I don't think that would be accurate.

What, them playing in a shit league nobody watches is a positive as well now?
Well it kind of is. Do you know the last time a team outside the big leagues - England, Spain, Germany, France and Italy made it to the CL SF's?

Because we are a company first, not a football club first?
Why is that a good reason? We are talking about a matter of hours. Is it really advantageous to tell everybody what you're in the process of doing across that kind of timescale?

We accepted Moyes because of SAF, and we accepted Ole because he's a legend.

Hiring Brendan when he's fecking up this badly at Leicester is worse than Spurs hiring Nuno. Orders of magnitude worse. At least Nuno wasn't vying for the sack at Wolves.

What about the rest of the team?

Haven't you been campaigning for Ole to go for weeks now? And now it looks like happening, you then declare our only option, in your view, the current Spain manager who is about to go to the world cup? If that's what you want you should have been hoping Ole stays for now. Completely lacking in foresight.

Impressive., manages a great team with with not much pressure however.

That I agree with, but ultimately how many Managers come across a job with as much pressure as United? Very few. If we're looking at purely from a results perspective, he'd be my 2nd candidate only behind Zidane (who clearly doesn't really want to join us). The issue with ten Hag is that he probably wouldn't jump ship during the season so would require a caretaker initially.

Writings been on the wall, if not today we would have most likely lost on Tuesday and/or next week.

That might be more believable if we didn't make such a hash of other sackings as well. There's a bit of a precedent for it. I'd suggest it shouldn't be that difficult for senior members at Man Utd to be able to contact our football manager for a discussion and to make a subsequent decision without the possibility of leaks. It's either incompetence, or simple poor behaviour in my opinion.

I desperately want Carrick and McKenna gone ASAP.

The new manager needs to ship them all out and bring his own team in.

My understanding is that Ten Haag would not work without Overmars and perhaps even Van Der Sar. The problem with this is that our board would not allow the other 2 to come as it removes power from the board.

Same here, man.
Those 2 were responsible for a major part of the coaching and our coaching has been dreadful.

I mean after that result today even a journo with no sources would be talking about crisis meetings and thoughts of sackings. You don’t need leaks to guess what’s going on.

If it is fletcher and Carrick it won't be long term calm down. This isn't post Mourinho, there won't be a massive bounce. A bit like when giggs took over, this will be temporary.

Well this is what you said:

so you need to elaborate then, because I barely see any positives out of those three years wasted under him.
Dear fecking god.

I replied to you, regarding Ten Hag: "And we forget everything else he did till the SF's conveniently enough?"

By saying, somewhat sarcastically; "People are happy enough to do that for Ole, so why not?" because the can't-get-past-a-semi joke was used against Ole for a couple of years, but when it comes to Ten Hag we should ignore his team choking in a semi final because they did well earlier in the competition? Do you not see the double standard there?

So yeah, I've said feck all about positives under Ole or anything about praising him, so feck knows where you've pulled that out from.

I blame them more than Ole.

Any evidence of football coaching has been non existent. Some players ability seemed to have regressed like AWB, Maguire, Bruno and Rashford. The more "coaching" they get.

To be fair, I'd expect Ole has been spoken to even if they haven't sorted the final deals of his payoff etc. I don't think he's waiting in the dark reading the media reports. It's possible because I believe it happened to Moyes, but I think they're conscious of the criticism they received for that debacle. Custis suggested Ole had already said goodbye to the players.

I agree in general though, if we have a board meeting of 10 people, who the feck is leaking it? It can't be that difficult to find out. Or they're quite happy to release information.

He's got a connection to Mendes.

Ronaldo, in other words.
How would Ronaldo or Mendes know what time our board meeting was scheduled for, the purpose of it, or the result of said board meeting? You think Woodward informs Ronaldo of his discussions with the Glazers?

And the Zidane stuff is not Mendes related either. Now that could be bollocks, but if he's able to get board level info and stuff from high profile agents, it's not unbelieveable he has a source in Zidane's camp either.
