Or he could be buying it to try and genuinely revolutionise social media as he has said, which means combatting its main problem - Its massive boatloads of disinformation and use as a political manipulation tool for the far/alt-right. If he has some idea how to do that.

I've always got the impression he leans toward saving the world rather than destroying it so one can hope huh.

He's made it clear that he's all for "free speech", so all those far/alt-right accounts and Trump will be coming back.

 
To be fair, extremist have thin skin, we can bully them into leaving twitter.
 
Dumb move for him as he'll get blamed for everything and anything that has to do with twitter. Like the next insurrection.

Does this mean whistleblowers at Tesla will be able to share their views openly without fear of reprisal and on Twitter, too?
 
Good, any change is good, can't be worse than currently, Twitter became a cesspool.

He's also made it clear he's going to totally destroy the bot networks that support them.

I'm no fan of the guy by any stretch, just not totally in the "evil billionaire" camp. Media moguls shouldn't exist at all but there are much much worse out there than I expect this guy to be, but then he's only getting started...

I never said it is answer to anything, but I can't see it being worse, because it is at the bottom now, can't go lower.
