There's a new Chief in town.

But is he a complete whore?

I looked at a picture of him today and always thought he was one of Glazer's kids.

From what I understand.. He's not a football fan. He's tight with the Glazers, so therefore probably tight with his wallet. And he has a silly name.

We might as well start hating him now right?

Being into football and spending the money required to keep the business attractive are two different things though, to be fair

I don't like change!!
Let's hope he can be as good as Gill, the thought of him having no interest in football while being close to the Glazers isn't reasuring though but I guess he cant be judged before he starts the job so I wish him all the best.

I remember in maths you could cancel out both sides of the equation.

Can we call him Ed Wood?

I don't think they'll make a decision without referring Ferguson to it.

Woodward has done a good job to date, certainly after he took over the commercial and media side at the club. Likely looking at no real difference in all honesty.

Isn't that Richard Arnold who runs the commercial side ?

Woodward was instrumental in helping the Glazers leverage the buyout of United, in his former role with JP Morgan..

oh well, at least if we are 1 down on the pitch we can always bring on The Equalizer

younger fans may want to google "Edward Woodward"

Yeah, I'm gonna assume this isn't him.

David Conn ‏@david_conn

David Gill after the Glazer takeover seemed to focus on keeping the football side on track. While Ed Woodward was always the Glazers' man.

Will be interesting to see what kind of relationship Woodward manages to forge with Ferguson. Worked very well with Gill

tariq panja ‏@tariqpanja

@The_Matt_Ford Will be first time Woodward will ever have worked in the football transfer market.

tariq panja ‏@tariqpanja

MUFC say Woodward will assume Gill's responsibilities which, in recent years been mainly to do with football side: Transfers, contracts, etc

tariq panja ‏@tariqpanja

Woodward is a favourite with MUFC owners.Helped arrange financing for takeover when at JP Morgan. Before joining and setting up London office

Well the 2 main guys now are those who joined after Glazer. Gill was looking after the footballing side/transfers etc.. more these recent years.

Don't know how Woodward will work in that different area now.

Btw, Woodward is just 40. Impressive.

He has obviously done very well at United so far, hopefully he'll do a good job as CEO as well.

Here is an interview from last fall.

Still no pictures of him? Does he even exist?

Edit:

I suppose he is in this picture:

My guess is the guy on Avram Glazer's left side.

SAF is low on the food chain as far as management goes.

He wouldn't be nor should he be consulted on who to make CEO.

SAF isn't your usual manager. Given he's the Glazers biggest asset, there's no doubt in my mind they'd have consulted him as in whether he's comfortable working with Woodward.

Every time we sign a player it's going to be his bulldog smile there now instead of Gill's creepy one.

"Callan" was the original back in the 60s, complete with a spooky swinging lightbulb for added atmosphere.
